This is a small rant @_@

Okies I had a search comment and it read simply
{party}
{no thanks}

Basicly..I DON'T want to party. I changed it when alot of people asked me to pt with them.

Anyways, I was in Ru'lude Gardens, and this guy was in Qufim Island..and really the only way to search me is through...the search command thing.

You know when you search for people, their comment comes up when you click on them right? Well this guy asks me to pt with him
"Wanna pt?"
"No, sorry..didn't you read my search comment"
"Er..no..besides you have it under EXP party"
":P still, my comment says I don't want to pt"

I didn't explode at him, but I get annoyed on the fact that some people totally skip reading the comment before sending a /tell...it just bugs me a little :wink:

Use Other: Party No Thanks.

Hell mine was worse, i was waiting for zm6 on sunday and it was in my mission comment with exp nothanks too. I got no less then 3 invites in the hour i was waiting on people i met at zm 5 to get on. To the 3 invites i ask what does my search comment says, and they answer why would they know? Temping to blist right there since they are a dumbass leader and i dont want them to pt with me.

I don't like going /anon but hate getting PT invites....

I like giving raises in the area and just helping people out and it's kinda hard when you're /anon :x

*/anon does her no good*

*bein' on a low level job does her no good*

If I'm online, I'm gonna get tel's. No if's and's, or but's about it :lol: .

:D

I never use anon, and I find it silly when you see low level people in areas like Ronfaure using it, as if anyone is going to bother a lvl 5 mnk.

Usually the only time I use anon is when I'm trying to hide my horribly leveled Thief subjob (WAR56/THF15). Usually when I'm not anon, and I don't want to exp, I use the "Other" search comment with <Experience points><No thanks>, or something like that.

I never can get those search comments to load, lately O.o

I'll be happy as hell when we can macro in those Search comments. I get tired of setting up a {Party} {No Thanks} {I'm not up for it.} comment every time I log in. I don't like to go /anon because of raise requests, although I tend to use it in Jeuno when I want to avoid requests for teles.

The original post's guy from Quifum was correct about not using the XP marker with your search comment (mine is always set to Other), but the guy still should've read the comments. Some people just don't read them or refuse to process what's there. I had an invitation for the Crawler's Nest one time, and I said "Um, my search comment says I don't want to party right now," and the response was "We really need a healer."

I started to say "La-di-dah, let me drop everything for you since my wishes are obviously unimportant in the grand scheme of things," but instead I just said "Sorry, I've made it clear I can't right now." I'm not going to dump a bunch of sarcasm on someone in a bind; a firm "No" is usually all that's required.

(Experiance Points) (Party) (Do you need it?) (Yes, please.)

On another note, yes that does happen a lot. What I love even more is when I am in a party, in an exp zone, and I am still getting party invites.

C its cuz when you do dat thing and type in /sea all false you see da name blu, so you aks for pt. :lol:

Falsey..I get that too..invited to pts when I'm in one..so instead i put
I'm in a party, send me a /tell and I'm not going to answer

Pass me some of those invites, I just got out of my second party (after about 15 combined hours of seeking.. o_o; )

best way I have seen to do it is just ask a couple of your pals who arent wanting to party either to join a party with you. That atleast cuts out half the invites you get. Works great. Plus you can BS with your buddies.

As a mage wether I'm party leader or not I get so many /tells asking if there is a spot in the party.
I hate when people ask me to leave a party and join theirs. "Ok, let me inconvenience 5 people for your benefit."

I hate that too Tsumaru, and I hate it when I'm being asked multiple times
"wanna pt?"
"no thanks"
"you sure?"
"yea, sorry"
"this pt is really good"
untill i go
"ask me again and i'll blist you"

I know it sounds harsh but, im tired of people trying to have me pt with them

Want to party?
...I have a party.
Yeah, but it doesn't look very good.
...It's good enough.
Well it doesn't look good.
...Listen, Im happy with the group I have. Please leave me alone now.
You're so stupid.

* I don't know what upset me the most about this. The fact some hokey noob in the dunes was trying to snag my Nin/War I was leveling for my Thief to sub, the fact the party I was in wasn't that great, or the fact the ONLY time I have people so desperate to invite me is when I play a tank.

I mean, yeah I play any job well, but how come my Thief doesn't get the kind of recognition? Heck people probably remember me more as a Warrier or Ninja then a Dragoon, Thief, or Ranger... all of which are higher.

I guess that's another rant though.

Sometimes people might invite you and they don't see that you're in a party. I've been invited 2 seconds after I accepted an invite to another party, so my name was still in white in the search. That's not always the case, I've been invited after being in a party for hours as well. People just don't seem to care that I'm in another party, as long as it's not THEIR party. Although most of the people seemed to understand that I wasn't about to drop my current party for theirs

The same goes for people sending me /tells for teleports while i'm in a party in Jeuno. When I ask them if they saw that I was in a party, they said "Yeah, but I thought you were just teleporting people."

Back to the OP, the comments dont work well or other reasons too. I've leveled other jobs in the dunes with {Blind} {/invite} {No thanks} in my comment. After getting a bunch of blind invites, I just changed it to "Ask before Inviting or I will decline." I still got blind invites, but not as many.
