Second worst flight I have ever had!!!!

Good morning to you all,

I have'nt been on lately (sure everyone noticed :wink: ) for the simple fact that I was away on business, in Calgary. But the flight to get there last Wednesday was just a complete nightmare...

I got up at 5:30 that day, as usual (have to come in to office earlier now that I am spending some time posting here), work on some files then leave at 15:00 for my flight, which was scheduled to leave at 16:10. Of course, it's late.. big news! Problem is, I have a connection to take in Toronto at 19:00 for Calgary. Anyway, the flight finally leaves at 18:00 and the pilot announce a flying time of 90 minutes.... no way I am making that connection.

We get to Toronto after a pretty rough flight (weather really sucks up here) and the connection was actually waiting for us... wow, first time I see that. We leave from Toronto at 20:30 for a 4 hours flight to Calgary, where I was initially suppose to arrive at 21:00 (2 hours difference between Quebec and Calgary).

Halfway throught the flight, one of the engine stops!!!! The pilot annonces it saying we SHOULD be ok to get to Calgary, but just in case, we will stop in Winnipeg. Airport in Winnipeg was not expecting any flights so they are closed, nothing to do except waiting... waiting... and more wiating..... Finally, we get back on another plane to resume our trip but one of the passenger does not want to get back on, so they have to search for his bags.

Finally got to Calgary at 2:00 AM, get my bag and run outside to get a cab.... none!! At that time, that was expected! And a full plane is lining up to get one!

Anyway, got to the hotel at 3:30 AM (5:30 for me), with my first meeting being at 7:00 that same morning..... that really really sucked!!

Worst flight ever was going in Italy where our connection in Paris got cancelled (not enough seats sold I think) and we had to wait 12 hours for the next one.

My parents were deathly afraid of planes when I was growing up (my dad's best friend died in a plane crash) so I had never been on a plane until a few years ago....never had an experience like THAT - but they lost my luggage on the first flight I had ever taken - AND (since I was visiting DC - before I moved here) the plane was basically filled with myself - and a very large group of junior high kids on a field trip. I was seated (apparently) by the "cool" kid who thought he'd show off by hitting on the college student. ><
It was the LONGEST 50 minute flight of my LIFE.
 
The first time I took a plane (and I kid you not) was actually to go sky-diving (for the first time too, obviously).

I actually LANDED with a plane on my third flight and got scared shitless cause the plane kept bouncing off the asphalt.
 
I did go sky-diving a couple of time since, but not recently. Hard to find people to go with and it's kinda boring alone. But I definatly want to take the advanced class and go free-falling at higher jumps.

Flying in to Chicago over the lake in a thunderstorm = not zesty (i.e. make it stop)

:lol: True and I kinda liked Calgary, but man is it ever dry there!!! Hotels rooms are usually pretty dry because of the carpet, but that was ridiculous!! I had to fill the tub with hot steamy water in the middle of the night so I could get some sleep.
 
Yeah, it has'nt been to bad, except for the fact that I have snow at my place for the last 3 weeks... (ok, just an inch, but still, way too early).

Edit: We are also suppose to get 10 inches of snow tomorrow...
