Seeking assault parties?

I still haven't done many assaults, but from when I did- I noticed it was a bitch to lfg. Last night I was thinking it might be cool to be able to seek for an assault party, while at the same time be able to seek for merit/xp party.

I think a great way to be able to do this is to make a new linkshell that people pop into for the sole purpose of looking for assault missions. You can keep the pearl in your mog locker even since you won't need it outside of expansion area. You also wouldn't have to give up your social/HNM/dynamis shell since you wouldn't really be in it for long anyway (hopefully).

I am also getting a bit annoyed with seeing shouts for it all the time.

Your a blm. If you really want to do them all, then that's another thing, but if you just want easy money I'd recommend making a static of blm/blm/rdm and just doing the Excavation Duty twice every two days. 3 people can easily wreck this one up, you will eventually rank up (very very slowly), you'll be able to get the hardest hitting blm shoes in the game, and it's a guaranteed 1.8M gil every week or so (assuming that you win).

Look for another blm and rdm around your level and you're set.

There's really no rush to do every single assault. The rank ups can wait :D

The linkshell method would work if you could get a lot of people interested, but I doubt it'd take off. You're better off just building your own static.

True, but I just think it would make it much easier for the server as a whole.

Also, I don't want to be doing any sort of static with other people since I hate having a scheduled time that I HAVE TO PLAY ffxi. I dunno if anyone else feels this way too.
 
It doesn't have to be a static in the strictest form of the word. My static basically meets every two days. The time we go is when the three of us are actually free on that day. The assault takes about 25 minutes, so all you have to do is find one hour on that particular day that would work.

Better than listening for shouts for an hour or sitting with your flag on for an hour praying to god for an assault. ^^

But give the LS a try. Maybe shout about it on a weekend and see how many members you can pick up.

I think a lot/most of people already go with the static approach though.
 
I'm in a Static Assault linkshell, just joined last Sunday, and so far they meet together Sunday night and they might start getting together Wednesday night too. So if those times are good for you then you can maybe join it too.

How do you make 1.8 mil a week with that assault? o.O If that's true, heck, I would join that blm, blm, rdm static as my rdm.
 
Well...

4 runs not as leader will net you 5332 assault points
2 runs as leader will net you 2866 (it's 1433 per run right?) assault points
6 assaults in 6 days splitting up leader duties = 8188 assault points

8000 assault points = chivalrous chain :D

This is of course assuming that you do this run with 3 people. More than that is just gimping your assault points.
 
Yes, that is correct.

You have to determine what will benefit your job more I guess. In my case, it's buying HQ gear with the money. :)
