Stay far, far away from this person...He was in my party with nothing on but lvl 14 NQ rings, lvl 11 armor, and a lvl 7 spear on his 21 DRG. He wouldn't stop using Thunder Thrust over Double Thrust...He also thought that 120 xp with resting time inbetween is good XP...

I'm also pretty sure he's 12 too, since when I asked him to take off /anon he proceeded to yell at me for using a sword on my NIN and calling me stupid (There weren't any good katanas on the AH; I sold my old ones since I hadn't lvld NIN in like 2 months). Also it was "his party", so he didn't have to do anything for me. He said I could leave, so I did...so then he kept sending me stuff in /t.

Then he told me to come talk to him when I gained some lvls and didn't believe I had 67 PLD (Yeah, I know, nothing exactly spectacular about that >.>)...I know I'm not 75 yet, but yes I cracked, got on my PLD, and started beating up the worms he was lvling on telling him I was farming ores. After a couple I told him to get some new gear, stop being immature, and that it's common courtesy to take of anon when you're in a party. I then offered to PL them for a bit.

Of course he blacklisted me, a couple of the other party members yelled at me, and I went back to seeking on NIN where they were lvling (enterance on worms). After a few minutes I see the text "Seemehow was defeated by the Land Worm" (yeah big surprise) and I start talking to the other party members while he's waiting for a raise...He must've done something really stupid because they were on my side now.

Lol, sorry for the wall of text, but sometimes I just can't understand how some people can act this way...He had to balls to insult my equipment (Small sword, on my 20 NIN) when he's using a lvl 7 spear and most of his slots aren't even filled with anything...

I've encountered Seemehow before. I don't usually flame people on my blog, but sometimes you meet someone so incredibly bad that you have to post a reminder to yourself to avoid them in the future.

I just found an entry (complete with a pic of his gear) where I slammed the little shit when I was partying with his WHM. By a fun coincidence, I was leveling Dragoon at the time.

The absolute crown jewel of the party was our White Mage, Seemehow. It took forever to get started because we had to wait for him to get to Kazham, and when he arrived we saw he was naked. He had a shield, some earrings, the Bastokan starter ring... gimptastic beyond belief. I've always heard people joke that a mage can party naked and get away with it, and now I've seen the proof. It's probably for the best that I wasn't party leader because I would've booted him on the spot. I don't care that he was only leveling WHM as a subjob for his Blue Mage; show some freakin' pride and do the job. Ugh.

He was really just icing on a bad cake. I'm glad I got out of the party when I did.

I had to laugh about the /anon controversy, though. I'm unfamiliar with that being a "common courtesy," since I've played WHM and learned pretty fast that going /anon after getting your invite is a good way to avoid constant "(Raise) (Can I Have It?) requests when you get to camp. He may have been hiding something, but that's your hangup.

I've partied with him before - he was playing as PLD - this was in the Dunes while I was lvlin Ranger - I started levelling with my bf (SAM) from lv 10 onwards.
Look in the party list and I see a lv 14-17 (cant remember - a while back...) PLD, thinking "That's quite good, at least we know we have a half-decent tank!", then I arrive at Valkurm to see he's wearing Leather Armour top-to-bottom, no Vit rings, he's ASKING for a sword to borrow ... no shield... i'm thinking, "How could I be so wrong?"

This was quite some time back, I admit, but i remember it all too well - he ended up LEAVING before the party even started because, "I'm not actually that good at PLD, I don't have a sword because I was levelling THF recently." ... riiiiight, to change you job you gotta go to MH / Nomad Moogle ... along those lines to say the least, you can access your Mog Safe and get things OUT - like... oh i don't know, a sword? shield? decent armour? good rings? common sensical items?

v.v; Totally agree with you Foros.

He deserves banning for stupidity, not for being 'bad'
Then again, If stupidity was a crime, 1/2 of FFXI players would likely be in jail v.v (Through my recent encounters anyway)

Lol, I told my LS about his gimp gear and someone said they think they saw a flame on him before, and I was really just worried that he was DRG21/WAR1 or something lol...Completely possible seeing what he's got away with before >.<

Pretty sure nobody's gonna be bugging a level 21 DRG for a raise though. The raise-capable jobs are the only ones for which that argument really works, otherwise there's no good reason to be anon while partying. (Especially in pickups, non-raisers who are anon often signifies underlevelled or inappropriate sub, frequently enough to raise a red mental flag.)
 
I agree it raises a little red flag (and makes it harder to check for a level gap), but my point is it's not the sort of thing I'd be obsessing about and hounding him for since I'd assume his jobs were visible when he was seeking and that the party leader had already seen it.
 
My friend Lenneth had a Pt leader who was /anon and the pt was like 50+. After a few fights she lvled to like 42(I think)

I'm fine if people want to stay /anon all the time, I just think you should have to flash it for your party upon request.

If someone refuses to switch from /anon, it tells everyone in the party that the subjob is either a bad choice or not leveled. And if the guy made the party himself, you would never now his ninja sub was hilariously low. (lolNev)

If you've got nothing to hide, then show your party, and go back to /anon.
 
Points are well taken, but I think we can all agree not to party with Seemehow no matter what his job is.

Edit: Oh, and to clarify, he was party leader...and one thing I forgot to mention, he wouldn't allow us to use provoke (this includes me and the other ninja in the party XD)
 
No one gives a damn at that level. You should consider yourself lucky he decided to wear any gear at all.

Lol, I am, after a looooong break. I've got koenig handschuhs to motivate me too :P...Just every once in a while I need to take a break from tanking to lvl something where I can beat the living crap outta a mob. :P
