How hard is it to report someone flaming outside of the flameboard? Oh that's right it's not. Quit bitching and be more proactive if you have a problem with a post then report it to a mod. Mods have lives outside of this forum, they don't have time to check every single post.

I read alla on a regular basis. I don’t like the main forums due to childlike unadulterated behavior. QCDN comes dangerously close to those standards. I am thankful for whatever moderation is handed out… but it seems imprudent to be thankful for not hitting what you view as your lowest standard.

To me the attitudes spread in density and frequency. It gets so overwhelming that what Lavi said is turning into fact… Welcome to the QCDN standard.

I don’t post here much, and that’s mainly because what seems to be acceptable is appalling… and I’m sure not only to me. In my worse times I could never treat people the way some of you treat people. Online or Offline.

Of course, the funny thing (and I'm not picking on anyone, just using names for examples) is that if Meeze had posted what Decidence did, everyone would've thought it was freakin' hilarious. Deci, like Meeze, is just going to tell it like it is. I don't see any reason to ask them to tone down their posting styles on other boards. If you don't like the post, you have the option to "rate it down", to report it, or to ignore it. I would suggest the latter.

It’s also been said that if you do not like the Flamebaord, do not look at it. That’s been said many times by many people. What is being said here is that some people are unable to keep their “Abrasive” attitudes on the flameboard. That is a completely relative issue… not one to be defused so easily with a “out of sight, out of mind” mindset.

You don't go to a fairwell party and tell the person he was an asshole or trudge up bad memories do you? Of course not, it's rude and most would have common courtesy enough to leave their differences aside. It's no different here. You either let it go or bring it up somewhere else.

Then there are posts like this taken from the RL Pictures thread. Seriously, it didn't belong and to insult someone on the way they appear especially when you are so vain you HAD to check it is weak. Instead of encouraging posting pictures, dumbasses like that discourage those who would normally be afraid to do so with apparently good reason.

It's disgusting the way people act now. It's no wonder a good majority of the readers here are silent. At any given time, a QCDN regular is just waiting to jump down their throat. Perhaps people need to take a moment, rethink what they post before they actually post it.

I'm familiar with how to handle it. #1, this isn't about the mods, I never mentioned them, and #2, I never said I did or didn't do anything about the posts I thought were ridiculous.

Flameboard = nonstop bitching. At least I did it in the right place. Oh, that's right, that was only the point of my whole post. GG though for acting like you have all the answers.

Really, the best way to handle the jerks of forum communities is just to have an admin suspend them or ban them indefinately. Proper modding doesn't take much time. I'm a full time college student, have an afternoon 6 hour job, a girl friend, etc. I takes me very little time to mod the communities I'm a part of, and generally the more mods/admins you have helping you, the quicker it is. Doesn't take much time at all...unless you drag out the things and make a big deal about whatever's going on (several hours worth of back and forth arguing/debating over what the person did wrong). I've found that it's easier to just warn someone, tell them what they're doing wrong, and if they keep doing it, suspend them for a week or two. Maybe a month. When/if they come back, and if they start it up again, just ban them. There doesn't have to be anymore exchanges, because you already told them what they were doing wrong and how to fix the problem. Takes no time at all.

The idea behind a little jab is to get a joke out of it for all to laugh at, but apparently and with obvious reason, he was the only one who could get a laugh out of it. He did it knowing full well the other party, Zalbag and Vin, would not find it funny, instead quite the opposite. Deci's little jab was meant to be an ass and he is an ass, I will give him that. It's one thing to make a joke for everyone to laugh at, but another to insult others and bring up events you know would rather be forgotten. Of course you skipped over the second part of my post too. Perhaps that's because it's very obvious it didn't belong?

No one is asking the boards to become goodie-goodie. No one wants that at all. What is asked is a little self-constraint and proper decorum at the very least. Don't bash people just because they made a post and you want to troll. Don't insult someone in their goodbye post. Just put a little thought into it. There is no reason to constantly insult people just because you can. Would you walk around the streets and insult every single person you see? Then why do it here?

I know the “I can't see any reason to stop that unless you plan to stop everyone from doing it” way of thinking. That’s more of an excuse of extremes. It seems like a very shallow way of saying “You’re better off shutting down this board if you try to change anything”

Same thing with the Stepford Board comment. Turn that around and you can say you have a board of “Lord of the Flies” where only the strong can survive. it works either way and really solves nothing.

As for being Butthurt you really gotta look at the main fact.

1. Flames are meant for the flameboards only.

How anyone feels about it weather they agree or not is somewhat irrelevant. Those comments like many others that stretch outside the flameboard do not belong. Saying they do because everyone is doing it sounds just silly.

The same can be said for you. Considering hes talking about people you don't know. You generally know your boss/school people. If someone you don't know says something you don't like, and you make a huge deal about it, then you can just get over it. If the same person is doing it then you might have grounds for something. But, this is the internet, so its basically a "deal with it" type of thing.
