all lies , the 7 big Sights didnt came true yet *in islam that is* ;p

but many of the smalls one came true tho

This could be yet another publicity stunt.
Just like in the late 90s...there was religious cult that believed in an alien race known as the REALIANS; being the ones who created us.

I remember when I was young, I was curious and checked out their website.
I was like.. WTF? This alien looks like a Fraggle from Fraggle Rock.

Now I haven't been following up a lot on the media lately, but for those who have...doesn't our President have anything to say about this?

I know its just a quote on quote "prediction" which is bound by the whole Freedom of Speech, but weren't we all under the impression that any insinuation of terrorism meant government officials knocking at your door steps?

Maybe he has said something.
Maybe he has not.
Anyone following up?

Isn't the bible taken from a completely different calender?

If I remember correctly we are several thousand years different from 2006, thus rendering most of the bibles 2006 threats redundant.

Yay!

Unless it was streamed to make the people go into a panic :/

I don't really believe in the bible really so I don't know what would/could happen in the near or distant future and I wouldn't really want to know.
All I can say is I'm going to live my life to the fullest and enjoy it :D

Nuclear Holocaust? Sure.
I doubt that every single word in Greek had coded "nuclear war in 2006" in there.
The bible was written in Greek first if I'm not mistaken (at least thats what I have read) and with translations the words may be obscured with the real meanings not fully expressed.
So while that "code" may make sense to some, I wouldn't believe it.

All I'm wondering is...if he is proven wrong then is there going to be some mayhem? lol.

Any religious book's teachings can be manipulated to serve the head of the religion or "preacher/prophet."
Likewise, I do believe there are some people that bend and twist some of what the bible says. I remember on TV not too long ago some church in NY state fired their long time Sunday school teacher because the new pastor there said women cannot become teachers of the bible and she was an old woman too.
...yeah total bullcrap.

Thats what I'm guessing for this one.
So let's see what will happen come September 12...10 days away now~

Didn't the INcas or Mayans have a prophecy that the world will end in 2012... LOL

Maybe our country really does play too much videogames/watch tv.....

As a gamer, I know that. :-D
Although I wasn't a big fan of the series.
I kinda liked Xenogears better. ^_^

But as for the cult, it did appear during the 90s on the news.
Personally I think it was a publicity stunt.

They basically were a religious cult that was behind 100% for PRO cloning babies which the government deemed as a no-no.

I'm pretty sure some of ya remember when this had hit in the 90s.

I managed to find their website, but before clicking onto the link just be prepared that their beliefs may raise controversial thoughts to all of whom have a certain grounded liberal or relgious belief.

http://rael.org/

I'll see if I can find the video with the muppets. :-D

Meh..just a religious website.
The puppet is in the flash movie with the UFO.

Information about the actual religion is under VIDEOs.
Its pretty informational but contraversial.
Probably something you wouldn't see on the History channel.

But as for the main issue, don't you think our government would have intervened or raised some kind of suspicion towards a nuclear war warning?

I haven't been following up as much, news wise, so I'm not too sure if they have said something yet or not.

Moriki is right about the Calander thing. We changed our calander AFTER the Bible was made.

To be frank, I am a believer in God and Jesus. But I believe that Jesus's follwers who wrote the Bible, added in their own ideas. I think there was some big misunderstanding, or big mistake that went down. Theres things in the bible that God would NOT say. For one, theres a part where its tells women to obey their husbands. Another part says Don't be homosexual. But they didn't know back then that homosexuals Don't CHOSE to be homosexual. Thanks to technology today, we proved that homosexuals are born gay becuase of the estrogin or something in the brain. Its medical stuff i'm not sure, but i read about it.

We already proved so much stuff wrong in the Bible. I think its a big mistold message.

In response to the poster above, about the science and homosexual thing.

I, myself, think that is complete bullshit and people choose who they are attracted to, and that a certain cell in the brain wouldn't force you to chose one way or the other. Just my personal opinion though.

What?

This has been a pretty interesting thread. Let me point out one thing first. This thread is religious-heavy, meaning no two people will agree 100%. Please treat everyone's thoughts with respect and try to provide a valid arguement if you are going to disagree with someone.

Okay, about me... I consider myself Christian, with a few years background in Bible study. The Bible code is complete crap. It has been translated a number of times. Ideas have been transfered, "codes" have not. The Bible is meant to be read "as-is". It means what it says. It's not meant to be read-into. If it says homosexuality is wrong, then it says it's wrong. You don't have to agree with it.

If you are interested in prophecy, read Revelation, (the last book of the Bible), or the last few books of the Old Testament. A lot of the Old Testament prophecies were in reference to Jesus the Christ, which came true in the New Testament. Keep in mind while reading prophecies of the Bible, no one knew what a helicopter or a rocket was. If it says "locusts spit fire", it could mean a number of things including firepower from aircraft to something that has yet to be invented.

Regardless of what you personally believe, shouldn't we be living every day as if it was our last?

Jesse

Something like that...I'm not 100% sure, is 2012 the end of that calender?
