Seriously...

What seems to be the problem? I didn't think Big-O was that bad...

Seriously. I kinda liked the story myself. Didn't quite get the ending. ;x Flew over my head a bit. :/

All you really need in order to understand the ending to Big-O is a switch that turns off the thinkin' part of your brain but leaves the part that gives you a nerd boner whenever Roger yells "Showtime!".

I could never get into Big O. Maybe the story just flew over my head, but I didn't really "get" it. A shame, really, I hear had I stuck it out I would've been rewarded.
But unnecessary? Not everyone has to like what you like, and hate what you hate.

I wasn't sure if he thought I meant like the big orgasm or something. <_<; I think bootz got it right though. I got a nerd boner when I hear roger screaming IT'S SHOWTIME!

Same reason G Gundam was so cool.

I just assumed he thought the locking of the thread was unnecessary.

Well then to put simply, he's wrong.

I just figured we've had to lock and remake enough threads that hit the 1k post mark that people just knew that's what happened. Its not this is the first time, or even the second, that this exact thing has had to happen.

Perhaps when a thread is locked and the next thread is created, a link to the new thread could be put in the last post of the old thread to avoid confusion?

Would make sense no? Would have thought some of these bright individuals would have thought of that already =p

Ooooooooooooooooh. I get it now.

Make got it for me! If anyone feels the need to go through all the open threads and find out which ones have 1k+ on it and post it here to try to be wise too...all I have to say is thanks. xD Makes it easier to lock and get a new thread going.

Could do that. But then again it's not like it won't be in the same forum at the top of the list. ;x

People will complain about anything.

First, I'd like to say Big O is cool. The story is awkwardly done, but it's old school style robot wars with psychology and oddities. Good for business.

That was not why I made the post though. However, Xal, stating something is unnecessary isn't bitching. It's far from it. I guess I could have said more or simply asked, "why the need?"

I find the course of remaking threads, sanctioning them off from their original, to be unnecessary and unorganized. Why should it be separated, why should your time be required over such a worthless process? It happens -often- (implied, not stated that way)? I've only noticed it for the Bleach and Naruto threads and wasn't present for the knowing of why.

So in short, I'm interested in knowin' why this much of a useless event takes place. Why it matters will not be important until the next time one of those argument/"crisis" things occur.

But I didn't equate it to bitching. I said it was complaining.
Also, locking threads once they reach, I think it was, one thousand posts is done because a thread that large is taxing on the servers. Hell, it happened tons of times in the old Bored at Work social group, and no one really brought it up.
Probably because everyone already knew why they were being locked.

Much -unlike- a chance and a coincidence, to complain is to bitch or gripe. Unless of course something new has entered the grammar clauses of slang.

(one of those sentences is a joke)

Another instance of something I know nothing about, an answer none-the-less.

How is 1000 pages any more taxing than 10 threads of 100 post/pages (take your pick)?

It has something to do with how larger threads are saved on the server, iirc.
