I have had another account that was given to me by a friend almost a year and a half ago. It was basically just sitting there, rotting, because I never really used it. I decided to transfer it to a RL friend's server, Sylph. I've been there for a few weeks now (on a character other than Luffy, obviously) and I really noticed a bunch of differences from Quetz.

a) Attitude of players
b) Popular races & jobs
c) The lingo
d) Economy (obviously...)
e) Corruption

I always thought servers were generally the same, just different people, so this was a pretty big shock to me. The people on Sylph seem generally "friendlier" than Quetz, in all honesty. There are a hell of a lot more Galkas on Sylph than on Quetz. You know how you'd always use to see those all-Taru LSs around? (well I saw them a lot a year or two back) On Sylph I've seen a bunch of all-Galka LSs. I've always called the Northland Dynamis areas... Northland Dynamis (lol). Over there they call it "snow" areas, and literally no-one refers to it as Northland.

One of the weirdest things I noticed was that they don't make fun of loldrgs... they fully appreciate them for everything their worth. (WTF is that? lol j/k) The economy is different, some items are a shitload cheaper, some are more expensive. I'm pretty sure price-range is a common thing among all servers. As for corruption... a friend I met who's been on Sylph since North American release said that at one point RMT dominated sky, and many Linkshells gave up. Also, from the sounds of things, most of their endgame Linkshells are pretty corrupt too. Stealing items, hacking, etc. Not sure if that's *really* any different from Quetz, but it seems to be to a higher degree over there.

Basically, I'm making this thread because I found it as an interesting "discovery," and I'd like to know if anyone else has been to another server long enough to notice similar things!

That's all, I guess.

On kujata, all the end-game king-camping ls's openly bot. It was a really weird transition, even though I only played for about a week there before I quit lol

I came here from Unicorn a long time ago. On Unicorn, things were much more expensive, and the endgame scene was a lot more crowded with many old, established shells.

I'd never heard of "cannon" parties before I came here. On Unicorn, we called them -burns, such as Manaburn or Arrowburn or TPburn. We also referred to Dynamis armor as relic armor (relic BST armor, relic WHM pants, etc.) rather than AF2 armor.

You're telling me you spent 25 dollars to quit a week later?

The smart people, along with SE still calls them relic armor.

I'm actually enjoying the people on this server more then Phoenix. I think there is alot more substance to some of the players here on Quetz, or at least the ones I have encountered.

And we have the largest server forum in the game.

When I started this game and I saw in the screen "Welcome to Quetzalcoatl" I've never regreted it, Ancient Papyrus and all. If you want to have fun, this is the place. Quetzalcoatl sure is one kinky server!

A few things I've noticed between Shiva (original server) and Quetz...

1. Besieged - Shiva has no problems winning Besieged. It's nothing to have 500+ people in Al Zahbi for Besieged whereas the Quetz struggles to get that many there. Since I've come to Quetz, Quetz has lost more Besieged than Shiva has all this year. What's up with that?

2. Party Invites - WTF? I was seeking with my 61 WAR/NIN last night for 2 hours, and NOT A SINGLE INVITE! WTF is wrong with this picture? On Shiva, if you're a WAR/NIN and you're seeking, you get an invite within 10 minutes. Another example.....on my BRD. Even though it's still in the lolJungle levels, on Shiva, if you're a BRD, you get snapped up almost immediately. Not on Quetz! I was LFG for 45 minutes before I finally got an invite. What seems to be the problem here? :badwords: The ONLY way, it seems, to get a party invite is if someone in my LS is setting up a party and it's in a level range I have a job at, such as my Lv. 69 (now 70) DRK. Come on now, Quetz, step it up on the XP Party front!

Allow me to explain how pt invites in qutz go. Generally it involves only inviting somone when they're asleep, doing something else, afk , or in the middle of dynamis.

a lot of people on quetz prefer dd jobs over the tank and mages so unless there is a mage in the right lv at the right time(usually rare) a pt can't get off the ground...

you're also hearing this from the gimp that gets 3-4 invites a day on his rdm subbing just about anything but blm or whm screwing around soloing and camping

Being Lazy. Either your pretty lazy to find people to form a PT or the jobs that you want or at least try to get are not LFP. we lack some players, well... idk about lacking but a lot of people either have all 75's or just don't want to lvl another job around a certain level range or hell they could be busy. or what Khajit said, its 90% true most of the time.

Trust me, I was ACTIVELY doing /sea all 61, /sea all 60, /sea all 62, /sea all 63 for people SEEKING, or even NOT seeking......there was NOTHING.

There was 1 party in Aydeewa Subterrane but said there were no vacancies when I asked them.

Trust me, when I'm seeking, I'm SEEKING. Sending tells to party leaders, doing searches for people seeking to see if I can set up my own party, etc. etc. etc.

It's disheartening to see so few people.....

The invite problem, I think, is one of 3 things. People don't like to be the leader, don't know campsites, or simply won't make a party unless certain jobs are available.

I personally don't like leading a party when i'm tanking, because when someone needs a rep, it's hard as hell to find one while getting the shit pounded out of you. Also I don't know the camps very well at higher levels because I only have blm at 75(read: I was shunned because of those f'n Colibri and their magic reflect), so Aydeewa Subterrean and Mount Z .are the only camps I know besides the 1 or 2 Imp ones. If i'm on bard, or really any of my lower level jobs I will start a party because I know all of the camps.

Saturday I was seeking for 5 hours on my 63 Pld, Sunday was 4 hours. I got one invite on Sunday but declined it due to the fact they were fighting Colibri and I HATE THOSE LITTLE BASTARDS!!! *edit* So it's not just you that doesn't get invites.

Peace,
Shmed

like quetz is the only fuck up server there man pretty much everything i hear all others are friendly while here people just fuck up.

been in fenrir for 2 months and heck that server is sweet

Oh I see how it is, I don't count as a party now? Pff see if I invite your pld to xp again!

Also, my guess would be that shiva had a much larger player base that quet if they got 500 constant beseigers.
