Alright, if you can read this, then things are looking up.

It seems like overall board functionality is restored. You can select custom styles using the drop-down box on the lower left corner of any page.

User ranks have been lost. Restoring them is currently not a priority, but I will do it next week sometime.

The search function is not quite working yet as a new search index is still being generated.

Private LS forums are not accessible yet. This is because I need to reset permissions for each user group to reflect what they do and don't have access to. I will work on this tonight, but I have a prior engagement from about 5pm to 9pm, so don't expect the private LS forums to return to normal for a couple days (I will be really really busy tomorrow during the day and evening).

There are currently no moderators. This is something I will hopefully fix tonight. Don't go wild cause you think there are no mods, I am still here. ;)

If you find something that is obviously broken and has not been mentioned above, please post here.
 
Braydon fears change, but this is alot faster running. EVerything is loading alot better.

Oh, and first post on the new board! Wheeeee

You can mess with the styles some as well. The ones that are listed under the default style seem to load the fastest. In time I will add a style that is minimalistic (text instead of gfx buttons), which should speed things up even more (at the expense of not being pretty, lol).
 
There is a lot of stuff that doesn't work quite right yet. Private LS forums turned out to be somewhat of a time sink the way vBulletin handles permissions. I figured I will just bring the general forums online so people can post stuff again and worry about the LS forums later on today.

Can you make max avatar size bigger =P my old one is 20.55kb and the limit is like 19.5kb.

The quick reply is pretty handy is your browser is AJAX capable (which most are). When you use the quick reply, then the page doesn't get reloaded, your reply just gets added to the page and that is that. The benefit is less HTTP requests on the server and less mysql requests as well.

You can still use the old style reply by clicking the "Post Reply" button on the upper and lower left side of each post/page.

I will probably set the quick reply as standard, so that you don't actually have to click the quick reply button if you want to reply.
 
Pfft silly Javascript... Seems a bit pointless to have to click a button in order to activate the message box, and if you don't have JS enabled you're stuffed anyway.
 
:o This is going to take some getting used to. The formats so different im not entirely sure what the hell all the new symbols mean, like when stuff is read or unread and all that jazz. Is there some kinda of chart? XD I suppose I'll get used to it.. but atm its like so much more fancy than the old site... so many new symbols me no understand ugh. :P And obviously I don't browse the VN boards much. QCDN and seldom times Alla were the only boards I ever checked. ><

But uh.. nice job Sculli, I can say it definately loads smoother and faster.

-Edit- Uh duh.. I suppose if I had just scrolled down a bit I MIGHT just have noticed the symbols with the meanings next to them. Man I feel dumb now XD. Oh well, call it a blonde moment.

Fixed, now quickreply is always available, don't need to click anything anymore. You can still use the quick reply button on each post, that will make it so you can quote the appropriate person.

However, you don't have the option to limit the quoted text. So if you do not want to quote the entire message, then the Quote button is still the way to go.

Try different styles too (lower left of each page has a drop-down box that allows you to switch styles on the fly). Some styles have better icons than others. I am also up for installing new styles, just PM me or post here.

It's much easier to install and mod styles here than it was in phpbb2.
 
yea this is going to be hard to get used to, i dont like it much, but its way faster
 
I'm really diggin' it Sculli^^. Very nice job. Especially the no lag issue. It was very frustrating to say the least when I was sittin' in front of the comp in the morning trying to get my 2 cups of coffee before getting ready for work and half the time I couldn't even get in here, let alone the time it took to surf the forums.

Thanks so much for taking such fast and positive action. Pup did try, but most of us know it's always gonna be rl first.

PS. I love the Nightshift board look.
