My cousin told me this might be comming soon, i was wondering if theres any truth to this, and under what circumstances (Such as, do you keep your items, money, missions, etc) and for how much?

If theres already been a thread over this, my apologies

(By server transfer i mean switching a character of your choice to another server)

the last time this happened, you could go to hades (when that first opened)

you kept everything except your name if it was taken and your LS.

if you were the leader of your LS you were allowed to keep it with any members of it that also transfered still intact. or something like that.

it'll cost 10 or 12 dollars to do a server chance once every 72 days or something if I remember right

Migration was different. It was their way of balancing server populations early on.

We don't know what actual transfers will prevent going with you.

They move your account for cash? Where i sign up????

And to think I'm a mediocre RDM after a win-cast like that,
I think I just totally spanked Avesta.

Hmm, would you keep all your gil? Having 10 mil on this server, could be worth alot more on another server. How would that work?

According to the announcement made in the SE 2007 fan fest, they plan to open migration around June or July (but you know how they keep to their own deadlines). It costs 3000 yen, heard that's around 25 dollars. Once you move the first time you have to wait 90 days to move again.

Here is the link where it was noted on playonline.com

Having 10 mil on this server isn't going to be better off on others.

This server has one of the best economies currently.

I don't think moving servers will help you. People with good reps and established connections will stay on their current servers. You think this is your chance to get a fresh start, but so does everyone else in your situation. Anyone who moves into a server will probably be assumed to be fleeing a troubled past. Granted, they might not know what you did, but it's likely they'll assume you did something.

Not unless the player that migrated with a troubled past lies to them and just says that their RL friend or whoever plays on that server too. Otherwise I think those with a bad rep should really start over or something with a new character anyways, and try to start fresh on the same server to begin with.

They told you to check ffxi.com, but that domain is owned by IGE.

This just in, SE promotes gilbuying.

www.ffxiah.com is great for this. Just check random note worthy items like Behemoth leathers, V. Claws, Hauby, etc. to the prices across different servers and then before transferring, make a large purchase and unload once you get to the new server. Although our economy might be better, you can still make "more" gil moving. I will note; however, you actual gil might increase, the value will not. Even though an item might be worth double over at another server, it's very likely that everything on that server is double the value as well.

I made a statement awhile back and I still hold to it: if a player moves to another server, end game shells will only make the assumption that the reason for moving is to avoid a bad past. Most end game shells require some form of verification to their credibility, usually someone with the shell will vouch for you or your reputation within the community will work. If you have absolutely no reputation, there is always someone else they can get that is at the very least known by someone within the community or shell. With that said, you can get a second chance and earn a better rep, but only if you change what gave you the bad reputation to begin with. If you're an idiot and you continue to act like an idiot, you're just wasting your money.

I should also note that even if you plan on changing, the likelihood someone else will join the same server from Quetz is very high and that could very well come to bite you in the ass. Plus there are multi-server forums like BG which will allow LS leaders to query a prospective member's past history as well.

This is a great opportunity to go and dominate on another server! Which is the least populated/advanced server atm?
