A higher percentage of competent players does often translate to more success, but ... weren't you just saying it was 1 in 10 either way? So you're not exactly getting a higher percentage there. Instead of 1 good and 9 bad (10%) you have 10 good and 90 bad (still 10%).

I think your argument would make more sense if you went for absolute numbers, *not* percentages - that is, 1 good player vs. 10 good players.
