Anyone else having troubles getting on? I was having problems with the AH and search...(a telltale sign) so I logged to see if logging back on would fix it..... only to find that I couldnt log back in. I keep getting FFXI Error 3100 as well as POL Error 0011. Anyone else having difficulties?

http://www.internettrafficreport.com

Asia is having massive problems server-wise - 40% packet loss and an average ping of 529ms. Australia isn't much better.

I don't think this is a DDoS attack, more like just general worldwide problems.

Distributed Denial Of Service

Now you tell me what "jw" is?

Regarding the Internet traffic report for asia, if you look at the break down

Sorry about the formatting.

Router Location Current Index Response Time (ms) Packet Loss (%)
gsr-ote1.kddnet.ad.jp Japan 83 164 0

Which is pretty good from what I can tell, its low because of these

Router Location Current Index Response Time (ms) Packet Loss (%)
mail.nls.ac.in India (Bangalore) 0 0 100
hfa.netvision.net.il Israel (Haifa) 0 0 100
tlv.netvision.net.il Israel (Tel Aviv) 0 0 100
fe1-0.bkj15.jaring.my Malaysia (Cyberjaya) 0 0 100
csl-lotemau.samcom.com.ws Samoa 4 611 87

A DoS attack is when you flood a server or router with enough data packets that the device is unable to processes anyone else’s request.

DDoS is the same thing, but the attack comes from multiple locations making it easier to overload the system.

Well, China had been doing this to Japan in the past to get back at Japan's new textbooks which pissed off China due to how they portraied WW2's atroicties (spelling, I know but its better then my ingame spelling).

Might still be at it, I know it was pretty bad a few days ago as well.

Wonder if they would block all traffic coming from China to fix the problem, should it be the case. Nah that would ruin gilselling operations.
