Servers back up

Why are you so worried about a few whiny little asses living in their mother's basements?
/blist add <name> and move on.
If you keep crying about it you give these folks exactly what they need to keep going on.

If you think Midgar didn't have a fair share of assholes you've got another thing coming.
Omg someone isn't impressed with the server, boo hoo!

true that. If someone isn't impressed with their new 'home' they should spend the 10 dollars or however much it is to do a character transfer somewhere else.

It's a bit more then 10 bucks but yeah if they don't like it they can transfer to a new place within a few minutes.
But it's less a thing of disliking the server as it is an attempt to feed itself on the emoness of the players around it.

A couple of former midgardians are like that and a lot of us have gotten used to ignoring them.
QC however is a completely new feeding ground.

Looks like servers are -now- up, after the fix.

Don't worry Shirai, no one is boo-hoo'ing anything. I'm pretty certain that we are all well aware that there are idiots everywhere; if you play any kind of online game, you're basically drowning in a sea of them.

I mean come on... blaming Quetz itself for the problems -as if it were run by some other company that didn't make Midgard- is pretty thick. And funny.

i say we welcome the midgars to a good ol' ballista match.
quetzies vs midgars.
who's down? lol

Midgardsormr doesn't play Ballista. Used to have a small number of folks who bothered at the 50, 60, and uncapped ranges back when I joined (mostly JP), before Brenner was added. Then Brenner was a momentary fad (and all interest in Ballista largely ceased). Then it fell out of favor as anything other than a free Diorama for one-on-one duels.

I wouldn't mind a 60 cap match sometime but I don't think you'd get many others from here interested.

Meanwhile, SE says everything's up now, but I still can't get in. FFXI-0001 errors on all of my characters.

The most members online in one day was 498, Yesterday
Qcdn was busy last night I couldnt get on it or the game.

Just tried logging on now (5:30am pst) I logged on mules ok and my main bod in sandy, but when I tried to warp to Whitegate got an error message.

4008 people in the entire world
738 people in Whitegate.

Never seen it that packed here in a long time, may be awhile till I can get into town to do anything. /Sigh.

sounds like everyone had alot of problems at 1am EST *yawn*(I'm still sleepy even though I didn't stay up due to me having to go to work the next day). Since I didn't know if my sister had checked everything I logged on at about 5:30 AM EST this morning(yes I have to get up way early to get to work) and my character was fine(well at least the name) and if I'd thought about it I might have started selling the crystals I've been hording for a month. It was too early to find people to get my linkpeals back so I just looged off and went to work....

Anyone who says they are gonna "Own this server" or "own the Quetz people" is really stupid. I mean I really only want to work with you guys and well I admit I have an obsession with story missions and I've wanted to beat Zilart since I heard about it in Beta(no reward...who cares? I just beat an expansion pack or I will!) and I can't ever get any helpers. It's not like I need alot of people to own the last few bosses but no one was interested in helping...

Yeah 4257 people online at 8AM. That's crazy

As for qcdn itself, the site seems to have some issue with its DNS hosting. I'm not sure exactly what it is, but I keep having to restart my own local caching nameserver periodically when it stops being able to resolve either qcdn.org or www.qcdn.org. I can usually find my way to the A records manually via dig (though I think I've seen the SOA change at least once, which seems odd), but it still won't show up locally without restarting the server.
