I've been looking for one for quite a while, however I'm a bit unsure if it's worth it - it gives 10 accuracy, but at the cost of -10 attack. That in junction with the 15 attack you'd you lose not using Forager/Amemet as well as some strength means quite a decent drop in attack power, however the att/acc difference seems to be comparable to SH vs AJ for some other melee jobs, so I'm especially unsure.

It would make taking the Meat-foods path a bit more forgiving; I currently have +56acc or so in TP gear, but I still don't hit some mobs as much as I'd like...just curious as to what everyone thinks of this cape, and if it'd be worth taking the hit to attack or not?

26/26.5 attack difference for 10 acc? No thanks. Spam Periqia Sergeant missions for http://wiki.ffxiclopedia.org/Aileron_Mantle if you really want acc on your back piece so bad >.>

Edit: I could maybe see carrying this around if you are using meat on mamools and throwing it on for Lurkers...but thats about it. Thats alot of attack to lose for 10 acc.

Ahkay, thanks for the input. If I may ask another question, about how much acc should one have in WS gear for something like Alky Bracelets to be better overall than Hecatomb Mittens?

Well, atm I still use sushi for nearly anything since im a lazy SoB. Plus, I really like this setup on my WS. Averaged 960ish on WS at Mamool staging point with one minuet(not up often either) and no Dia.

I also have a second WS set that switches in more ACC if I feel I need it (like on lurkers with aggressor down). I just switch in N hands for alkys and E legs for af2 legs(Byakko's works just as good, possibly better...need to reread that crit thread on BG). Its worked pretty well for me so far, my melee acc is 93-94% and WS averages are 950-980 so far with this setup along with sushi. With sole, I have 470 base attack on WS and +67 STR. <3 manjuggs

God, 139str. XD I have about 11str and 110dex in my current WS setup ;-;

Is Jaeger Ring a reasonable replacement for Flame Ring til I have more spare gil, or should I stress on getting one of those as soon as possible? I was hoping to get some HQ staves for my RDM but if it'd make a considerable difference for WAR, I may be forced to get one of those first.

Meh, prolly will work fine. Not comparable to the difference between Nq and HQ staves. In some setups, could possibly be even better.

Jaeger is better for meleeing, Flame might be better for weapon skills. If you're not getting a full TP return often, try putting the jaeger on. Flame isn't going to make a huge difference, but if accuracy isn't a concern, then it'd help a little more than a jaeger would.

I don't see how your accuracy can really be all that bad. Usually, my accuracy is better than most melees and I know for a fact my gear setup is comparable to yours with one exception (I am still using life belt, need to get a swift). I hit around 92% accuracy with only 2/8 axe merits and none into berserk/aggressor on mamool ja's.

And for Alky vs. N hands, contrary to most, I wouldn't bother with Alky. I prefer the +dex for increased crits and would rather have a chance at crits during WS and a slightly increased acc than the higher STR for better WS. Also, why do you have so much DEX? 110 DEX and 11 STR seems slightly... odd...

Byakko's Haidate, NHands/NFeet, Haub, Rajas. I don't have relic legs to WS in, unfortunately (though I'm unsure if they'd actually be better for my setup or not) - I may have slightly different STR/DEX than this, going by memory. I can check in a few moments to be sure though, I'll update this once I get to it.

I hit most MamuJa pretty decently, mainly speaking based on the many parties who seem to find it necessary to XP off of the NIN/THFs only - which is admittedly an unnecessarily enormous pain to deal with.

I was hesitant to switch from heca mitts, haidate, and warwolf myself at first, but after I switch those three to alkys, af2, and potent belt, my WS average went way up. I've yet to exp with somone in the same pt that had a higher WS avg. With that setup, you should make a more accurate WS set to use as well for when aggressor is down and the mob is evasive. Makes a big difference imo. E body and 8 axe merits does help alot with acc though, especially on WS.

I don't see AF2 legs doing better than haidate for ws, but I'm not a war. My experience as nin has me using quite a bit more acc for ws than for melee, but jin isn't the same as rampage so again I can't say what's best for you.

I suggest you try out what the good warriors (and even pants) are suggesting and see how it works for you. In the end play your own style, if you think it works better your way then do it that way. It probably won't be exactly the same as anyone else but somewhere in the middle of all the others. I like my accuracy, I'm sure it has something to do with being an old, old ranger in a former life. Other ninjas are happy with 85% accuracy, if I drop that low I call it a wiff-fest. They may do more damage, but I like the way I play the job more, so I play it that way.

(and yes that's a joke, but I like how a lot of ppl on qcdn toss out salvage gear like it's a real alternative to their current gear)

Well, ninja does not have any acc+ JA like war does, and also Haidate are the obvious choice for Jin since Jin has a DEX mod, while rampage does not. I will agree that if you are lacking acc on rampage, switching in haidate for af2 legs is one of the better spots to pick up some acc.

Mish, I think you missed a digit when refering to your strength which is why I found it odd, but I am guessing you meant 100+.

Rampage is only modified by STR unlike Blade: Jin which is STR and DEX. I am also under the impression and you can correct me if I am wrong, that Jin fluctuates a lot. I believe it's based on the critical hit rate and DEX will help that improve a lot more than STR would. I also get access aggressor so for 3 mins out of every 5, I need not worry too much about my accuracy unlike NINs who do not have access to any accuracy job traits or abilities.

AF2 legs and B haidates are both good choices, but unless you have Ares's, the cuisses will probably do more. For Alky, it's a straight up trade of 10 DEX for 5 STR (Alky = 11STR/-7DEX vs. N hands 6STR/3DEX [off the top of my head so correct me if I am wrong]); however, AF2 legs has DA+1 which although it's only 1 percent, it's a good amount added with the effect of the +STR.

It's only a matter of time before Salvage gear becomes somewhat common. SE said it wasn't meant as the end game activity like sky or sea so I figure once the information is common and completely accurate, it's only a matter of time before it becomes as common as Assault gear. I've even been told it's doable by small groups of 6 rather than the normal 12-18 with decent payoffs. Give it a six months to a year and I bet it won't be lolsalvage anymore.

It's a tough call, but if I had Haidate I'd probably be wearing them over cuisses. I've whored out Double Attack as much as I can, and I'm still getting beat to 100% by Motley (almost equally equipped but he has Haidate where I don't) by, on average, 1-3 swings.

He's also got maxed axe merits where I have none, but a few % off your DA rate is likely well worth a static always-visible 5% haste.

Actually when people mention those items it's more of a plan for the future kinda thing. Getting 2/3 on a given peice is actually quite reasonable and easy nowadays. The main issue is really just low drop rates and hard to spawn mobs. Give everyone about a year and we will see a huge increase in the number of people with the gear. Look at all the people we see now with full or near full homam. The idea of that happening was as ridiculous as the idea of kirin dying within 30 seconds was a year ago. It would be ridiculous to expect everyone to have the gear but it is getting more and more obtainable with time.

I don't think that's contrary to most.

Really? I've seen quite a lot of Alky WARs since they changed it's spawn conditions. I'm not talking a few, but I mean about half of the WARs I see have one of the gigas type bracelets. I will say though, they are mostly unmeritted or not fully at the very least and don't normally have much in the way of end game gear. Also from the AH, it seems to sell quite often, but that's not necessarily a good indicator.

Haidates would win hands down for DoT. It's a flat haste % which translates to an extra 5 extra swings in the time it takes 100 without any other haste. I believe the percentages decrease slightly the more you add haste, but for the sake of argument, it's roughly 5 per 100 or 5%. DA will only give you 1% or 1(as far as I heard, DA items only give +1% except Ares's) extra hit per 100 which is a far cry from the haidates.

That's pretty much why they're wearing them, I'd bet. You can get Alky's yourself, but hectacomb hands require a LS to get.

With meatwar, i'd be leaning towards fulltime haidate. Your first priority should be acc and acc only. If you really need the acc, wear settler's cape, but with aggressor and a moderate acc setup you shouldn't need it on anything but lurkers and infiltrators.
