Setups

If you go with a bard, take some time and spam Ilrusi Atoll assaults for them to get a storm fife. Ballad +1 is a huge improvement while you're in there, I can usually just play piannismo + ballad 2 on Myrrh, then head out to go pull/search for mobs. Then when you play both songs, 5mp/tick ballad is extremely nice; more so if you have a pld.

So that's where the extra tick was coming from. I really need to pay more attention in there.

My current group's setup is BLM, WHM, BRD, WARx2, NIN. At the moment, we're spamming our way to 100, but when we go farming, I plan on having one WAR go RDM and the WHM will go THF, which worked for us in the past. BLM isn't exceptional, but on certain NM leaders, it's helpful when you'd prefer to give as little TP as possible or where BLMs just really shine such as Qiqirn and Custards. I also like having a BRD if only for magic finale and lullaby. Very useful for soulflayers which are immune to sleep and dispel which can make ice spikes a pain.

i agree, blue mage and samurai are nice in my opinion for the nyzul in general I did floor 80 with daveee the other day.

2 sam/nins a war/nin, myself, wak on sch, and a nin pretty much watched the sams go apeshit on hydra(assuming using wing + meditate then 2hr) as he was felled in about...6 mins or less?

too bady loldenali dropped...but maybe that's SE's way of saying we won too easily lol.

Blue mage equipping some magical spells and setups would help against custards to address my other point of interest I've never fought a custard before until recently but they seem to have the damage resistance trait like elementals or close(?), but a good red mage can replace the blm(for versatility, not damage) unless it's something like clear out enemies then I'd assume blm can solo it. I'd expect good numbers with a magical blue mage as well.

Well here's my teams job standings and i'll let you build a static from there.

Whm, Smn, Pup, Nin
Thf, Pld
Pld, Bst, War
Thf, Bst, War
Sam, Drk, War
Pld, Rng, Cor, Blm, Brd, Rdm, Cant remember what other jobs Zelf has... lol

I was told by a friend I should go as (Whm/Sch, Brd/Whm, War/Nin, War/Nin, Sam/Nin, Pld/Nin[still use sword + shield]) and to stay as a team even during a Kill all floor. That and the one War should go Thf on Boss runs. Any comments or suggestions? My team starts at 4 est, some would be appriciated before hand thanks.

Also I was thinking... How valueble or is it even worth it if I were to go Nin/Dnc and for kill all floors I split the team into two and have the brd go with one and me with the other?

fanatic and hp boosts for each of your melee as well as icarus wing and 2hrs up

mages will want mp boost, dustly elixirs and mp stuffs

tp on the rampart(usually one there) for melee and unleash hell I've only done hydra on floor 80 which seemed like a breeze(although we had experienced players from what i could tell). I hear the difficulty depends on what boss is up there and I'm not sure how much easier it is on the earlier floors so maybe the meds above don't apply yet or only for 80 and 100.

for what reason people said blm isnt good on high floor hnm?

because the toau NM's are pretty magical resistant in the 1st place.

I'm no expert in nyzul, in fact most of my experience is below floor 30. but i did join a shout group for floor 60 last night and we had no problem killing the hydra boss twice as WAR THF (DD) WHM RDM BRD or WAR WAR MNK WHM BRD THF (it was late, i can't remember the final DD in the first group). Maybe the Hydra is alot weaker than the other NMs, or floor 60 is alot easier than 80 & 100 but it certainly wasn't difficult with the setup we had.

only thing that can make hydra rough is shield and having dumb melees. Khim doesn't really need any strat. Cerb tends to like to spam Magma Hoplon which can be rough if you only have a few min and not enough damage output.

That's f60/f80 though. F100 they have access to more (all?) tp moves well the ones that make the fights tougher at least.

Hydra is much weaker than Cerberus and Khimaira.

Whm, Smn, Pup, Nin------->whm/sch or blm not smn
Thf, Pld_------------------>Thf/nin
Pld, Bst, War-------------->War/nin
Thf, Bst, War------------->War/nin
Sam, Drk, War------------>War/nin for non-boss runs either sam or drk for boss runs.
Pld, Rng, Cor, Blm, Brd, Rdm-->rdm or brd Rdm give you both dark and light sleep so I would lean to that but brds are even sexier with all the war/nins

Feel free to use a different set up for non-boss and boss floors, the set up I give you above is what I feel gives your static the best chance to get five floors done. I don't really know you or your static members so I'm assuming your all decently geared/merited.

If some of you have certain jobs that clearly will outshine the ones I listed because of gear or merits make a post and I will reevaluate this if you want, but this set up should give you good balance and kill speed.

rdm doesn't give you light sleep unless you mean with the whm meh. However should take them 1st as rdm once they get used to nyzul then have them go brd. Brd's not familiar with nyzul really suck at casting songs on the move from what i've gathered. Yet are useful since they only job that can dispel soulflayers and well horde for those moments you fuck up.

As an elv whm/sch I rarely ever need to rest so as a taru you should be able to fend well.

Also for those people who may have forgotten you can use toau rings in there.

blue mage- 2 forms of dispel, gaze and aoe

suprised it's not really up there for anything, they can deal damage and stun and heal on restricted white magic floors.

Yeah blue mage is a great job but they didn't have it listed as a job they had so I didn't include it.

Blue mage is a true power house we have won level 80 boss floor w/o healing magic due to how good a blue is. They excel at short fights where they can go all out with large resources. Full MP, then Vile, then devotion and a blue will rip a boss apart single handed.

oh my fault there forgot about the op

PUP, THF, DRK, WHM is the winning combo for us.

Does Nyzul Isle adjust it's difficulty according the # of players involved and the jobs they are on?

I don't think you can have more lamps than the # of players, but to answer your queston : yes and no.

yes : crossing an aggro area is easier with less people.
no : kill all floors are the same.

All in all, as long as you have clever people, you can do with 4 what you can do with 6 as you don't kill that much during those 30 minutes. Half of the time is spent moving around just like salvage.

My floors have not been friendly to my group at all lol, which is why I asked. we got to floor 15 after 6 runs of fail. It's not because my group is bad but because what these floors seem to throw at us, it takes longer to kill or to complete a floor. Wednesday, we had 1 bad run then we completed 15 and we were getting excited for hitting a boss run and we knock out the 1st floor with ease, 2nd floor was activate all lamps don't kill gears. which was fine cus the lamps just needed to be activated at once, no order. Except... there was one lamp surrounded by 4 gears and a pot... we lost because we couldnt kill the gears around the lamp...

I did learn tho... if you have agro and you click yes on a lamp... you lose agro entirely >_>;;
