Severe and Rukus- Player warning

I never got to do classic, hard-as-balls CoP. I wish I could have been around for tougher fights, exp loss and unnerfed Tenzen.

Mire, I think Kyas is right. I didn't play FFXI when it started, didn't FFXI start with max level of 50? So yeah... that would have been extremely hard to get to 75!

*don't lynch me*

lol Alth, way to go back to when most people here didn't even play.

i did play when if first came out for the 360 but i was to noob and young to understand you could get to lvl 50. i didnt get my first 75 untill 2 yrs ago and i started 4 years ago.

So go in 10 levels under cap, and enjoy, no?

Having been though the easy and "hard" modes partially I can say that the boss fights weren't THAT much harder but it was slightly more punishing to people that weren't prepared. We also had weaker gear back then in general.
Basically what im saying is that if you sucked or didn't come prepared for most of the fights COP would own you. If everyone came prepared and was on the ball you won. After the nerf you could suck and still manage to beat most of the missions in COP. That is the main difference.
The fact that not all the boss fights actually got nerfed is something I'd like to point out. We just felt like they were easier because we were better players and(probably) Didn't act like total noobs on the fight. Snoll got nerfed pretty hard though it was dissapointing how easy that fight ended up.

The funny thing is most people dont realize that the CoP missions the way they where before this latest nerf was still a dumbed down version. Extremely few people actually did cop the hard way, even tho alot of people think they did.

That doesn't count, SE made the Memory Receptacles unintentionally hard to begin with.
So hard that people pretty much needed to use their 2 hours to kill them because those things wiped full alliances.
After they fixed that CoP dificulty kinda remained untouched until this latest 'nerf'.

The no exp loss in cop big fights made them easier too, people could continually wipe in them and not have to worry about deleveling or a group getting more and more frustrated at losing exp and getting nowhere.

I recall before the nerf's my group did snoll fight first time without getting key items or anything, (salt?) we just had the set up we needed to win I guess, sometime later after it was nerfed I helped out another group and all they wanted to do was test the fight by wiping a few times and learning how it went...

Some cop fights were best done without endless planning. :)

I haven't even started the CoP stuff. the only missions I have done are my nations missions, the first one for WotG, and I am gathering my items for the ToAu.

You might want to start on it soonish ._.

I don't know how high your thief is but looking at your sig alone 2 of them pieces in there are from sea. o.o

My thief is level 30, I'm leveling ninja right now to sub with it.

Don't worry about CoP yet. Also, lolthf @ CoP fights.

I don't care if thief is lol at those fights, I love being a thief and I am having fun with it. I will just work extra hard at the fights.

At the risk of sounding like a huge dick, "extra hard" doesn't really cut it for most of those fights. But you'll see. You'll either have a capable ls run through the missions for you, or wonder why people won't take you through promies.

Good luck, though.

I would never, ever bring a Thief into 6-4. nothing personal but using SA in that fight would be dangerous, to say the least, and pile pitch could easily completely nullify the benefits of TA.

Not for nothing, but you might as well have said:

I don't care if puppetmaster is lol at those fights, I love being a puppetmaster and I am having fun with it. I will just work extra hard at the fights.

Not to say pup isn't fun or useful but its not what you take through a Promyvion or into Diabolos or into Mammets... Or anything in CoP, ever. Not unless you've got 5 more-than-capable people doing the bulk of the work for you.

This. Pretend I said "this" before my previous post. Tag had the point I was looking to make. /highfive

Don't worry about it too much yet.
My suggestion came from the assumption that you had your thief higher then that.
By the time you'll start considering CoP you might have more then thf up there anyway.
I know of only few people that made it though CoP on only one job.

I concur with this statement lol. For kicks and giggles, I'd solo another job to 30 and bring it for the starting promies, at the very least. Thief is insanely difficult to use on the starter zones, as you'd just be feeding TP to mobs rather than assisting your teammates.

Random ragging on Puppetmasters through CoP

Not that I don't think that PUP has its own LOLfactor, but you clearly never saw the party of PUPs razing the starter Promy areas to the ground.
