solo'able by a 74+ rdm... now is this /nin onry? could i pull it off /blu or /blm?

edit: i'm guessing it's end-game desc. not sure, move if you choose

I never saw a rdm solo him, i know ninja can tho.

He is ridiculously susceptible to magic attacks so I think a RDM could solo him easily. I don't know if /NIN would be 100% necessary if you kept Stoneskin, Phalanx, etc up. The reason why NIN is the ideal tank is because of his nasty AoE TP moves. But if you aren't feeding it TP from melee attacks as say a RDM/BLM or RDM/WHM I don't think you would have to worry much about that.

i have soloed him as rdm/nin it not a hard fight though i pulled him to zone to get him away from the ghost. It pretty easy fight but easy to die if you not careful. mp might be issue with rdm blm because his ws attack do hurt. though i dont see why rdm/blm could not solo though may need some meds

I solo a lot of tuff mobs as /blm. I rely 90% on enfeebling (para/slow mainly). If its something really hard I just find a mob I can aspir and keep it slept while I fight :).

/BLM would be a lot easier to kill him, Going /NIN would drag the fight out longer then you need to.

I did it with /NIN and realized that had I Gravity, bound, Nuke, rinse repeat, I would of been done with this fight so much sooner had I only subbed /BLM. Its WS will do major damage, but your key if going /BLM is not to let him get close enough and plus Stoneskin/Blinks will take care of any slip ups if you have any.

Also don't bother with meds, this thing can be kitted sooo easily and at 75 I verted infront of undead dogs that conned EP and didn't get aggro.

So in conclusion... Ya you can solo it with /NIN, but /BLM is sooo much better.

/nin with enspells joyeuse and a dagger is easy !

If you've got a 74THF friend, THF/NIN can own this. Just keep acid and blind bolt debuffs up, and spam bloody bolts. Bloody bolts are amazing.

Yes, I fully agree.
The two ghost's that pop's in that room aggro lv75
tho if I remember correctly, so pulling Sewer a bit
down the road might be a good idea.

LOL, just don't melee him and you won't have to worry about his strong TP attacks. As someone already mentioned, he is rediculously weak to fire, as in it does practically double what fire does on another mob. Gravity, fire, fire, fire, fire, fire, fire, bind, convert, fire, fire, fire til he is dead.

Or a nin would do just as fine.

Me and Rorion <Over there> duo'd this not a week ago.
I nin75, Rori was rdm66(?) at the time. And it wasn't even worth calling a fight >.>
But if you wanna solo, I'm sure you could solo this as rdm/drg, if you so wished.

Ofcourse magic gives mobs TP aswell, just as he hitting you will give him TP.
So just because you wont melee him wont mean he wont get TP.

Well, let's put it this way, I fought him probably a dozen times. Magic only has always meant that he NEVER lived long enough to use a TP move, while having melees hit him meant several fluid tosses and spreads, sometimes leading to death or low HP aggro and death.

To recap, I'm not getting into a discussion of TP of magic attacks, however considering THIS mob's rediculous strength against melee Vrs his rediculous weakness to magic, meleeing him down means lots of TP attacks, nuking him down means NO TP attacks.

Hey Al I heard your favorite strat on this NM is to.....

Nuke-->Nuke-->Nuke-->Die-->HP--->Come back-->Nuke-->Nuke

When me and Reko did it he melee'd it to death,
and the tp-moves Sewer had did'nt seem that strong.
I think I tossed a Cure III two times.
But killing it as RDM seems like alot more fun then
having a lolnin screaming for haste...
<3 Reko :P

Burst etc gives 10% TP to a mob btw lol

I wonder how you get about 12000 worth of fire spells cast on him as rdm w/o him getting 100% tp once.
But maybe you sub mnk for some subtle blow. Who knows.

I'm not saying he'll WS as much as with melee on him, because that is ofcourse not true.
Just saying he will still get some Ws's off.

Utsusemi absorbs Fluid Toss and Fluid Spread, so unless you get caught w/ one of them when all shadows are down you're safe.
And I would have to agree, it wasn't really a challenge, so would probably be more fun as rdm/blm.
Screaming for haste, why you little :P <3 <3

12000 is only about 12 fire3's on this guy, that and with bind and gravity, he's never really in range to use them. Either way I think we're splitting hairs.

To the OP, go either way and you should be fine. I think we can all agree that this is an NM where it's not nessecarily better to have more people with you.

I havent touched this guy yet but from what I can gather, this would be a time to make chainspell more godly no?

Gravity, Bind, Chainspell, Fire, fire, fire, fire, fire, fire, fire, fire, fire, fire, fire Convert, fire fire fire fire fire fire fire.

You could kill it before bind wears off couldnt you?
