Anyone else able to log on safely right now? They just finished POL update, and when I go to log on it says:

WARNING! Your account has been disabled per your request or has been temporarily disabled for other reasons. You can reactivate your account within 3 months of its closure. Reactivate your PlayOnline account?

I go to reactivate, and it asks for my POL ID and password. I put them in, it says incorrect password.

I don't like this, Scully.
 
Unfortunately that's the first sign of a banned account... I hope that's not the case. >.<
 
Damnit, and I was just starting to get the hang of gilselling!

edit: opened webchat with a POL tech. Apparently, "We are experiencing log in difficulties. If you can not log in please try again later." If you're getting similar messages when you try to log in, I guess all we can do is wait for salvation.

Maybe they banned the fly series gilsellers, and you got lumped in with the rest of them... At any rate, get in contact with SE support and see what happens. They may be underpaid morons half the time, but they're still SE, and can still do something about the account.

By any chance, did your credit card expire? Dead billing info can equal dead account, until it's cleared up.

Well, since you decided to remove it from the LS forums as I posted, I may as well put it here.

Check your credit card billing information.
It would be a minor glitch from the registration server update.
"...disabled for other reasons." leads me to believe that it may be that.

Not to be grim, this is just a "look at all situations idea", but there was a trojan on Alla's ad servers a while back that was a keylogger targetting FFXI accounts. (Man I'm glad I'm on PS2...) I know you were visiting Alla around this time.
Let's hope that this isn't the case, but just incase, I'll keep an eye out for your character.

Edit: Oh yeah, your original message was posted ar 2:04 PM EST.
I was able to get on at 2:10 PM EST without problems.

Was because stupid me went over limit on my card, and then ffxi could not get payment for the next month. I fixed that by using my debit card.

Now the part with your password being incorrect, IDK, hopefully SE tech Support can help you.
 
Yeah, if you are possibly billing the account to a debt card, you might want to see if theres money in the account. That happened with a friend of mine when he was still playing. As soon as the account went dry that message came up.

Well I took a quick look at IGE, and i didnt see anything that resembled your account so, lets just hope the comp over at SE had a hiccup and you'll be fine soon.

I bought some account today. The character's name was "Cmdrfly". I logged in with it, saw how lame all the equipment, jobs and crafts were. Not to mention getting a million /tells from men asking if or when I wanted to cyber with them for gil AGAIN.

Then, there was a little boy's mom... Threatening to alert the authorities if I ever offered her son candy and ask for his address/telephone number, AGAIN!

I immediately asked for a refund so your account should be available soon. IGE is now offering free gil to anyone who would [dare] take the account.
 
Dude, you can bill to a bank account?!

Anyways, contacted tech support. They said it was a billing problem - dunno why, my credit card is completely paid off. They also reset my password, which scares me - how it changed in the first place, I don't know. Been trying to update my billing info for half an hour, to no avail.

I wanna cry.

Sometimes credit cards may get rejected for random reasons, I know my bf had this issue last August or so (which kinda sucked cause they made him pay reactivation fee and everything..)
 
Just happened to me too, Cmdr.
Nothing wrong with my credit card, but I was told to try again later. =/

There were no updates to download as if they were updating the PlayOnline client or FFXI itself.

It was just a monthly registration server modification to charge your credit card and put it on their records.
The "updating" part was them putting it on their records.

The only thing that tells you that this has been done happens when you log onto the PoL viewer and it tells you something like "Changes have been made to your billing account, would you like to review these changes?"
 
Seems like there's people posting this problem at the beginning of every month...
 
Actually the same thing happened to me today. We were getting ready to do Ouryu and the monk in the party went poof!!!! A few minutes later I went poof!!!! Then I heard thru the grapevine the blm went poof!!!!

I never did ask what happened with the others, but in my case my cc's expiration was 12/05. Well I put that info in over 2 years ago and never even thought anything about it. Sure enough, they go to bill my account this morning and the exp date is now 2009. I had to wait 'til maintenance was totally done, before I could log back in again.

What a pain in the ass.
