I loved the first one. I think I watched that opening train sequence four or five times.

I'm about a quarter of the way through the second one. I love the battle system in these games, as well as the characters. And those "Mr." cards? Hilarious.

I heard rumblings about a third one, but the screen shots I saw didn't look right, so I never bothered to look for it.

Anybody else play these games?
 
omg Shadow Hearts II is one of my favorite games, I beat it a few times...

Haven't played the first one, though D: I heard it wasn't as good, plus I can't find it anywhere.

The third one looks kinda lame >.> Doesn't even have Yuri in it, when the other two did...

Anyways, SHII, very good. I love the scenes, it all has a very.....FF-esque, feel. And The ring system is da shiznit. And the game has one of the hottest game characters ever (that you get on disc 2) lawl.

Good game.

EDIT: Can't forget it's story, very nice story, too! Although it was almost too similar to FF8..............................you'll see why.

And yeah. Nice to see someone else knows what that game is, haven't met anyone else who does >.>

I liked the first one. I don't think I ever saw a copy of it for sale in a store. I rented mine. Eventually, after I got a job at the rental place, I stole it.

Yeah. No Yuri = No Shadow Hearts 3. I hated the screen shots I saw for it.

I'mma look for the first one and try it out, maybe I'll Amazon it...I do wanna try it, :3
 
I own Shadow Hearts II, great game. Sometimes it was hard to play because Yuri was such a b33f cake. Mm.

the 3rd one is abit more comdy tho but stll look good ... its got a "interrogate" CS ;p
 
Best games ever! I loved both games and (especially if you play them in order) the storyline is fantastic.

I have the third one but I haven't played it much yet. It's basically a whole new game with the exception of the judgement ring system. The first one is one of the most difficult games to find (according to some list, I can't remember where I saw it). I was lucky to have a copy but I loaned it out and it came back really scratched...I still have to try some disk de-scratcher stuff to see if I can make it playable again. :(
 
Loved the first one, though I've been unable to find a copy of the second or third one. I heard how the third one's vastly different, but still gonna give it a shot.

Why the hell did they follow the "bad" storyline path when they did Shadow Hearts: Covenant? Alice dying is sort of crappy, especially since the much tougher, "good" ending in the first one seems as though it'd be the one they'd follow. =/

Oooh, I'm assuming Alice didn't die in the "good" ending, eh?
Game producers often like new. pretty, main girl heroes in each game, though, maybe they thought "OMG With Alice dead we can try making a hotter gurly!!!" "And let's make the skimpiest outfit ever for her that our pathetic players can try to get after FIFTY BILLION AGGRAVATING QUESTS!!!!" "And then we can make her --toomanyspoilerstotype--!"
How can they have a character die in one ending, and live in another, though? >.> Seems weird, usually they just add more in the good ending. Or did I misread? >.>
 
they follow the bad ending in Shadow Hearts: Covenant ;p

In the bad ending path, Alice hasto fight Atman and has no remote chance of winning, and he winds up more or less devouring her soul. In the good ending, Yuri charges in (which requires getting a dozen smaller, one-chance scenarios...), kicks Atman's butt and Alice more or less doesn't become a soulless corpse in the long run. =P

*kinda spoilers* It's not about bringing a hotter chick into the mix. The second game has one of the coolest game endings ever as far as I'm concerned.

Yeah, I know--omg I LOVED the ending!! How everything tied together like that, it was soooo perfect!!

But seriously, they DID make the skimpiest outfit for Karin, ever >.> (had to be attained through like 5 quests though)

But yeah, what a perfect ending, except that ------spoilers?---Anastasia[the most ANNOYING CHARACTER EVER] ended up with the hottie, Kurando.-----endspoilerthingy-------

Haha yeah, she bugged me too! And yeah Karin wasn't exactly the most covered up character lol...

I wish that the ending to half the games out there were that cool though! :biggrin: Dammit now I have to play them again...
 
The third one was good, more then good it was pretty great. Was it on par with the second one which I consider one of the best RPGs of all time? No but that is a really tough act to follow. Its a different cast set a decade latter, there are a few cameos but nothing major.
 
I love Shadow Hearts :D I have only played the first two didn't pick up the third on the account of how the second ended, and for me that is when I decided to put a close on the story for myself.

If you are a shadow hearts fan you have to check out this video, it's fantastic. Within Temptations is one of my favorite bands and the video + song is something really awesome to watch, enjoy :)

I LOVED the first one, even if I only managed to get half way through it. It felt like a horror RPG which was something I never really played before. I'm currently looking for it again and it seems like ebay is the only way to go. I will be picking up 2 and 3.
 
this is one of my fave games, have not played the 2nd one yet. ive been looking for a copy of the first one for ages but it is RARE and expensive. the first one was AWESOME. id get the second one...but im getting ready to dive into persona 3 right now, since i loved 2 so much and still own that one!
