Shadow of the Colossus

Ive seen the preview on G4 tv and also the game play, so far that game hes the best landscape and gamplay I've seen in a very long time, ICO was ok, but I'n not much of a puzzle person but it was still a great game and I know this one will be even better.

There are special items, armor and weapons to unlock when you clear the Time Attack Modes on Normal and Hard modes. You can also return to any colossus you've defeated it and pray in front of the remains to enter a flashback mode to do the battle again.

I love this game, beat it Friday, and now playin thru normal time attack, and hard mode/hard time attack, but yea this game is art, ICO is great too, but just the sense of size when your this ant looking up at the colossi edges ICO out but barely. Each 1 was fun to take out, and hell I even did reminiscence/remembrance mode just so I could do them again in my 1st run thru lol. Definitely looking forward to what Fumito Ueda(man behind SotC and ICO) and his team have up their hands for the ps3 because I have no doubt in my mind it will be amazing.

My husband (Kicamo) picked this game up last weekend. He's only gone through the first couple of collossi (sp?) so far...but I was trying to play FFXI at the same time and kept finding myself running into walls because I'd be watching his screen (We have two televisions in the living room..lol)

its almost as good as god of war. i liek them both but gow wins hands down for me.

This game, as well as Ico, are just incredibly beautiful. In just the opening video I had to give out a "holy crap" for how good it looked. And the music is great. It really fits the mood of what's going on, like the flying Collossus. While it's flying around and not attacking you, the music is somewhat calm. Then when you grab onto it, the pace picks up and is more exciting.

This game is definately my PS2 game of the year. Possibly my GOTY for all systems. I'd have to think on that one.

Edit: Damn. It's going to be another month until the OST is released. http://www.play-asia.com/paOS-13-71-8l-77-4-15-shadow+of+the+collossus-70-10dp.html

The game is amazing btw. Shadow of the Colossus I have been waiting for year now to come out. Everything about it is breath taking. The world, the colossi, the music, it's such an exciting game.

Btw... Water Colossi suck ~_~;

Game looks wonderful, haven't been able to find a copy for sale nor rent.
But I gotta ask....why are games nowadays like 12h or less playtime now? What happened to the 40h+ games like FFXI and Stella Deus?

Well those are rpgs, most other genres, action/adventure/platformers/etc that I've played are only 12-20hrs. But if you want long games here's a few that are out now or coming out soon; Dragon Quest 8(with FFXII demo), Romancing SaGa: Minstrel Song, Radiata Stories(with new game+), Wild ARMS: Alter Code F, among others, all of those being rpgs. But other games just aim to be an experience, and tell a story, and a 12 hr story for Shadow of the Colossus and other games are just dandy indeed. I've got too many games to play and so little time lol ><

I still wanna play this ;-; just wish it was longer, but I guess that'd be impossible without hurting it's quality.
And I'm not touching Romancing SaGa. The first one was good, second one barely OK, and the third one on PS2 was the biggest piece of trash ever. Seen better graphics on Sega Genesis..

Heh the graphics fit the game, remake of an old Super Famicom game, just gotta really enjoy the SaGa series to enjoy this one :P Don't let reviews fool you, they just haven't played the SaGa series lol, like 10 different 1's so far, this 1 is better than Unlimited SaGa though. Lol but back to Shadow of the Colossus, yea being longer would hurt it, but when I pick up an action/adventure/platformer/w/e else I don't expect to get 30+ hrs out of it, just rpgs I expect that from lol.

Alright! I just barely bought this game a few days ago so sorry about the threadcromancy.

But I gotta say; despite the fact of the...lack of enemies, for lack of better words, this is an incredible game. The magnitude of scale between colossi and hero is....amazing.

Just watched Josh play this last night - WOW....very very very pretty <3

I didn't care for gameplay much (I was like "Can't I talk to anyone in the town?" and josh was like "What town? NO - go kill big stuff..." ;) lol) but I LOVED watching Josh rock out on it. Like a little movie <3

XD I know right! Every battle is like some epic cinematic experience. I absolutely love this game.
