Well I was playing in Citadel on BRD when I realized an interesting thing. As we all know, that place is filled with shitty pullers who'd prefer to kill tons of people in other parties and ruin 6+ minutes of leveling for everyone than just eat a death for their own screwup. Before you jump at me saying blah blah don't be so hard on pullers you don't know what it's like, I did level my THF through citadel and I got link ONCE. That was a pop on my way back after a long pull. I took the death instead of training.
Well I see shitty pullers now who zone maybe 5 times an hour.
For example this guy Zepyher. Kept zoning trains. Huge trains. Beetles, bats, even friggin revenants. Killed several of my PT members. Wouldn't stop doing it. So I ask you, what is a just counter?

I had been considering coming back as BLM, sleepgaing his next train and bringing it back to his crappy PT. Simple really. If you want to create trains, deal with them. Stop using other PTs as human shields and learn to do your job or grow some balls and take a hit. So what do you think, returning a train to the guy who created it. Is that MPK really?

Yes that is a MPK, but an eye for an eye I would say, as to training mobs to zone IS against the rules.

I don't condone it, but I'll watch.

Really good post Fire. I am soooo sick of how some of these up and coming players play lately. It's just so damn different than when I was leveling my whm and war. I honestly to the point of soloing. I used to love to level. Now I dread it. Terrible party setups, party members who don't listen to constructive critism, mages (esp. whm's who don't have their friggin' spells). Matter of fact, I'm a poor whm but to better my party I've bought no less than 4 scrolls of Barfira while goin' thru Kazham this past 2 months. I mean come on!!!!

Bottom line is, learn your job properly, quit getting friggin' PL'd, you whm's or whatever mages QUIT PLing the newbs, you are RUINING the game for them and us!!!!! And, if you're gonna play a MMORPG, then quit thinking in the terms of "I" and "ME" and start thinking in the terms of "WE", "TEAM", and "PARTY"!!!!

That is all ...

OMG!! Ive been slowly leveling a War through Kaz lately. If you check the PH in Kaz, you will see my name 2-3 times for the EXACT SAME REASON!

Learn how the monster agro. Learn the spots where they spawn. Learn how many mobs there are roughly in your camping spot, lastly time your spawn. Usually its 16min indoors with exception on outdoors which are basically 5min.

Learn if the mob agros by sound or sight. Learn if they are active types (agro on sight), understand their link range. This is simple practice. Also understand their pathing. Some mobs go way around to get you, which can cause agro. Good example is pulling a mob over the ramp. No the mob won't come staright to you but it will go around. Its a question of studying beforehand.

Before stating I know jack about pulling, I pulled as a monk my entire career. I know what I am talking about.

I had a puller over the weekend that wouldn't allow the mages to heal MP, even after a chain (we had no WHM), then he would point blame at others when the links got out of control  THEN asks me for a D2 afterward!?!?!?!?!?

I hate cocky players who don't listen to the other party members and think that everything they do is right no matter what  I "accidentally" d2'ed myself before grabbing him. /sigh Oh well.

The only way to get good at pulling, is through vigorous practice.
I like pulling...
:P

Wait, is this in regards to FFXI? ><

So many amazing posts in this thread I'm not sure where to begin!

A few remarkably good points would be:

Kat's
quit getting friggin' PL'd
start thinking in the terms of "WE", "TEAM", and "PARTY"!!!!

In regards to Kat, yes, god almighty I wish people would stop racing to 75 and start to enjoy the game where they currently are. Not a whole lot is going to change from 1 to 75. You'll still kill shit and you'll STILL need to be a productive member of our FFXI world.

As a THF, and therefore puller, I know all about it. However my highest job is infact my first job. I don't know many of the things others in this thread do. So I strive to know as much as I can, and after 39 levels I've found more then anything, that is not that damn hard to find the info needed to be useful in a PT.

I do ALWAYS check alla or KI or a fucking BRADY guide if I must to make sure I know exactly what to pull, and how to pull it in each zone I enter. If I don't have a map for the zones I exp in (nest only so far) I use a map from online. It's not brain surgery to pull a mob. When leveling in the nest simply requires you to double check your route often. Other then that no one should ever train you.

Far too many people treat FFXI like any other FF they most likely have played. You know, those 1 player games. Many don't want to buy into the idea of "not doing whatever is best for you ALL the time". You can NOT possibly become level 75 in any job without the help of someone somewhere. Yet theres so many that are driving themselves to get 75 ASAP. Even if they get there they won't be of any use to the folks that Learned those basic social skills needed to party. It's a sad circle for some of these people. Glad I'm not the only one thats playing FFXI as a MASSIVELY MULTIPLAYER ROLEPLAYING GAME.

Racing to level 75.. we are having the same discussion on our ls forum actually and someone posted this:

Racing to 75 is not everything in this game.

Little off-topic, but I like that movie! :)

I too, have joined the masses who like that movie :) .

It also reminded me of something that I forgot that I had planned to do long ago. Something that I needed to be "high level" to do. Once I unlock sky I'll be able to do it :D .

Jender the solution is really quite simple. Just disband him right after he pulls. He'll be too busy fleeing with his life and trying to find a raise while dead and without a party to become a problem.

OMFG I FUCKING HATE THAT MOVIE WITH A STABBY RAGE.

WHM: "I stayed in the LS by myself and told my stories"
Me: "Get a new a LS, dumbass."

Someone has no heart! *cAoNuEgShLY*

It's a nice story. Could of been better put together though.
