K going to try and keep this short and sweet if I can.

Anyone know an elvaan female PLD/THF/DRK called Shizia?

For a while i thought I was the only one who had a problem with her but I was in PT in the nest last week and I commented on the fact that there was one pld seeking (we were out a tank at the time) and they could have her if the wanted but I'd be finding myself a replacement if they did, based purely on the fact she's the most ingnorant (+ dumb as shit) person I've met in game so far.

Nearly everyone at the same time suddenly said, who Shizia?! {No thanks}.

lol everyone of them had a story about how she'd been a total asshat in one party or another.
For me, it happened as a lvl 18 war/9 mnk in the dunes.
First job through the dunes and still a little raw, but had plenty of positive feedback from the peole I'd partied with.
Anyway she was 18 pld/war and when the mob broke for the whm after a bit of over zealous curing I waited....waited.....waited, bout 3 hits the whm ended up taking, so I said screw this and hit voke.
Anyway the mob went down no one died and all was good right?
Apparently not....
Idiot (shizia)-"Do that again and I will {disband} noob"
Me-"Oh sorry what did I do wrong? I didn't realise, should I not have voked?"
Shizia-"I will not tolerate that again, never do it again"
Anyway that's pretty close to what she said, and the tolerate thing is exact because it stuck out in my head as a totally pompus thing to say.
Try as I might I couldn't get her to actually tell me what I'd done wrong.
I think it was probably just that she hadn't kept hate off the mage and screwed up when it came to revoking or something, and was just pissed that a newb (NEVER been a noob) like me had to pick up her slack.
So in the end I simply said:
"Look I don't understand why you're so pissed about this (I had totally lost my patience and was starting to get angry) but just chill out because you're getting way out of line calling me a noob and flaming me in front of the PT"
She didn't say a word, just disbanded.
We stood there for a few mins and I was so ashamed because I thought I'd pissed the group off by losing them their pld, that was until they assured me that no it wasn't my fault and she was in fact the asshat I thought she was.

lol so anyway I promised you I'd try to keep it short and believe it or not I actually have because I've bumped into her like 3-4 times since and I could fill 2 threads ranting about her, but meh.

So that's it, had to get it out, to all my great friends out there, hey sup?
To all who were unaware- shizia = dumbass end of rant.

He is actually quite... notorious about these threads. But from what I gather, he's turned over a new leaf. But it seems the damage may have been done already... :?

yes at the time in the dunes i was ignorant.

not really having to say anything to defend my self but whatever.

i need no excuses if u dont want to party with me then dont.

i will admit i am not the best at holding hate as a pld but damm sure try my ass off.
 
you all really need to learn that the best tank from 1-30ish (stretched even to 37 if you want) is WAR... a WAR/MNK will hold a lot more hate than a PLD or NIN can and will take damage as well and even have counter and dodge and bunch of good stuff (depending on level :D WAR/MNK counter at 20 I think and then dodge as a level 30 WAR/MNK). PLD will finally start getting a better hate control when they have both provoke, berserk, cure II, and a few other job abilities... which is about 30 when they can really hold hate best... NIN's can be good tanks if they are very good players and really know how to work Utsesumi well and has lots of NIN tools to help hold hate (which can be very expesnive x.x) so ya.. WAR/MNK > tank than all until about 30.. maybe up to 37.. but if you really start asking a WAR to tank after that.. you need to realize that they are better as a DD from that point on and PLD or NIN is better.. unless.. there are no PLD and NIN to be around at all...
 
Um... If I ever see a PLD use berserk I will kick his ass.

hehe..true.. PLD shouldn't use Berserk XD but it would give them more hate :D ahahah!! NIN on the other hand could use Berserk and prolly be ok
 
hey lanien if u see me as a 43 pld/war use berserk please kick some sense into me ok.
 
lol Sure thing Shiz. A Paladin is still a good tank in the dunes and Qufim. I would rather have duel-ninja tanks during that stage, but that's being way to picky. A ninja without shadows vs. a Pugil=dead. I talk from experience lol I always seemed to lose shadows at the wrong times and get eaten alive by Screwdriver. A Paladin's natural high defense and vitality (which is why I believe PLD best suited for Elvaan or Galka) would make the best tanks. However, a ninja that knows what he or she is doing would be just as good as long as they are using the right tools to hold hate.
 
Why would a PLD use berzerk? Surely defender would be better that an ability that lowers defense
 
Well a feasible idea of using Berserk is to use it, then cancel it right away just for the small amount of hate that the ability gets.
 
i would not use berserk even if i was solo/farming because it is useless in that case and even in exp case a very very little amount of hate.

Exactly, thus making that ability worthless for a Paladin.

Maybe in the dunes, but they start to hit MP problems later on. I like being a hume tank cause you balance out the mp with vit. You can hold hate without taking a huge beating.


The Key spell for Pallys is flash. Flash is the first spell that really can generate hate. Use provoke to spike hate and build up longterm hate with flash.

Micah, I do use berserk farming, but I que it up before a ws, and then remove it after.

Thats exactly what I was gonna say.

If for some reason the PLD gets put into a skillchain, then a quick macro of Berserk and your weaponskill can be a big damage boost. Things like Vorpal Blade can take a big boost from Berserk for devastating damage. Just ensure you cancel the berserk immediately after, or else... (x_x)
 
Yah I did the same when I tanked as a war/nin at lower levels as well. Helps to get a little attack boost but once the shadows are gone so is the berserk.

And regards to the original poster: Shizia is trying to be a lot nicer and a better play so unless you have something recent to post, its not worth commenting on a player that you just happened to see seeking. On a side note: Players should improve over time because they become more experienced so flaming someone long after the fact is pointless. It should be understood that the person has been improving in the time that you last played unless you know otherwise. If you wish to hold a grudge for the past experience that is all up to you; however, it is a bit unfair to keep that grudge and spread it to others just because you wish to hold onto that grudge.
 
it's their own choice if they want to hold a grudge I think. New player or not being courteous or respectful is just common sense, But perhaps in this specific case there's been a change. There are however consequences for poor treatment of fellow human beings that you can't just order forgotten. It's a victim's personal choice if they want to forgive or not and if they decide not to you shouldn't hold it against them.
