Ok, I feel like I am really, really stuck with my Character, i have 160+ Job Levels all in all, of which I only use 60. None of them are above 30 and getting ahead is really starting to be "Not Fun". Thinking of all the Wasted Gil and Time sometimes really makes me Sick.

Well, I have had the Temptation of Liquidating my precious Ellah and Reincarnating her. I would get enough Gil to afford awesome Equipment for a while, would Transfer all my Fishing Equipment and start doing it early instead of later. Also I wouldn't hit some of the Time Sinks I did the First Time around. Yes, loosing all the Spells would be frustrating, but not nearly as frustrating as having to stare at the same Character Model I like, but wish it were different. (smaller and different hair) Also it would give me a Chance to make a Character that actually has ONLY CLasses I like. Now that I know what I want ... All in All, after looking at the Useless crap I've leveled, i'd only be Restarting 60 Levels.

What are your Thoughts on that ?

Has anyone done this before ?

Wel i had to start over 2 times as it was pretty fun, just the 10 first levels were to damn boring >.< but i got 4characters, you better make another content id if your not sure yet

Man... ouch... If you really want to I suppose.. Just the thought of me starting over makes me shudder...

Just think, you have to do all your rank missions again. All your quests... level your subjobs... ugh!

Oh boy, been there done that. This is a decision that nobody else can help you make. If you really want to start over then go for it. Just dont forget though that other than your job levels you are also losing all of your fame, quests, rank, missions, crafting skills, choco license, kazham keys...
When I deleted my character and started over the only thing I truly missed was my rank (rank 9) and my crafting skills. (ww 70, cook 53, cloth 42) Rank I missed because whether they should or not people are judged on rank. Leveling in the dunes for example if you have 2 people with the same job levels/sub more than likely the one with higher rank will be picked first. At least in my humble opinion. And the crafting well, because I had spent sooo much damn gil and time leveling it. From your post it sounds like fishing is the only craft you have spent much time on so perhaps that wouldnt be so bad and you didnt mention rank so maybe that's not a concern either but those are the two things I miss the most.

I must admit though that starting out as a noob this time around was soo much easier. I knew what to do, what not to do. What to spend my gil on and what not to bother with. And I must admit it was nice as a level 22 noob to already have all 4 gobbie bags completed, 2 mog house quests completed and rank 4. Feats I certainly did not accomplish at such an early level with my old character.

Why not just start a new character and play it without actually deleting your old character (like I did) and that way if you have any second thoughts you can always go back.

Went back and read what I posted and glanced at my sig at the bottom and well that pretty much sums it up lol. As you can see I may have the tiniest bit of remorse from deleting my old character. So, I stand by my statement to just start a new character without actually deleting your old one just in case you have regrets.

Also on a slightly similar subject. SE can do a one time character restoration for characters that have been deleted so you can always fall back on that option if you have deleted a character and then had a change of heart. However they are not always successful at doing this. When I tried to get Kahlaan back after several emails and a couple of phone calls to support I was finally told that Kahlaan had "never existed" so they were not able to restore her. Made me feel really great that the character I had spent the last 9 months of my life completely absorbed in was actually a figment of my imagination and never existed.

Well, that was some helpful input, definetly. I made a new Character. The name is Sihoho and she is a Taru BLM to be a BLM/WHM. We'll see hjow this works out. but really what i lack is concentration on one char, so i would like to limit my own Options so i can actually develop one character.
I'll be posting on my Progress.

ya im a mithra lvl 41 rdm +70 lvls in other jobs...i REALLY REALLY wish i chose a taru as my race...but ive gotten sooo far, i cant start over...
