Just played the demo...man I miss wasting hours upon hours on this game...now I can again! All the classic features are still there, and the ease of gameplay on the ps3 makes this look great.

As I'm not a fan of FPS or anything close to that genre of game, I've been greatly disappointed with the games for PS3...the only one I've put any serious amount of time into was Enchanted Arms, and that's only because it was the only real RPG game I'd seen at the time.

My Civilization roots go way back to playing Civnet Hotseat games in the 90's...I'll definitely be picking this one up :D

what else has sid meier done? i know Alpha Centauri, which is STILL an amazing game. but i feel like there were more titles attached to that name...

Civilizations 1-3 >.>

He had a Railroads game out too

Multiplat section.

I've been trying to download this demo for awhile but my internet is being screwy. Is it worth the play? How do the button conversions work with a controller? Were you using a Keyboard?

No keyboard whatsoever...yea it shoulda been multiplat, my bad.

Gameplay is extremely smooth, you use the L3 to point where you want the units to go. L1-> R1 cycles through cities, or you can go directly to a city by going over the city with the L3, and hitting L1.

Only time Keyboard would be necessary is to change your city names from defaults (you get 3 choices though with each new city).

Demo only goes up to warlord and ends at 1250 AD...but it's a fun challenge to wipe the world clean by that time in history, lol.

Oh, only usable civs are Romans and Egyptians as well.

Don't forget his Pirates games, and Colonization.

And good lord, if the game starts at the same point, and tech progression is at more or less the same rate... Yeah. 1250 AD is not a problem on standard difficulty.

I still remember getting Genetic Engineering in like 100 BC playing Civ 1. And my first game where I didn't bother to update from Despotism ever, and conquered the word with chariots and triremes... Good times... Makes me want to re-install one of my various Civ games and nuke every city in the world that's not mine again.

I got rather frustrated with certain aspects of Civ III though, and never bothered to pick up the fourth game. Civ III wasn't any harder than the first two, just some of Sid's design decisions were... annoying.
