Ok, the other night I was in a Pt with Johnnyb. I've partied with him before and he's generally an asshat that does not know anything about any job he's ever played in my presence (opinion)
Now, he was the RNG and I was a NIN tank. First off he does not know the meaning of hte word RESTRAINT. he was spamming arrows like nothing else and got off like 3 sidewinders every fight. he then says to me "you're playing the job wrong, I'm a 75 nin and you're playing it wrong." Ok, so what should I do better? nothing.
He continues to be his trigger happy self and is generally unpleasent to be around. he then examines me and starts to criticize my equipment. I started out the fight wearing eva gear but as I realized he was trigger happy and wasn't going to let up I began adding emnity pieces in place of eva. When he examined me I was at my max with +10. he says to me "you don't need emnity. I never used emnity. you don't need it, get rid of it." Ok, what would you suggest I wear instead? Nothing. I was wearing eva gear but you're pulling too much hate. I'll switch back if you lay off. nothing.
Ok pt was in onzozo, I hate that place because I've only once had a competant mage that could keep me unparalyzed and unsilenced. It's pretty much tank hell. I look before going and there are already 3 parties there. I say as much and that i would prefer to either super chain raptors in valley of sorrows or take gobs in monastic cavern. Johnnyb "i never had a problem tanking there. we're going to onzozo." important note, HE WAS NOT THE PT LEADER. we get there and get like one mob every 5-10 mins. I was all like "told ya so" Johnnyb then says he's leaving then uses a warp scroll and disbands.
As i was venting frustration to my LS I find out this lovely little tidbit of info from a 73 ls member that has pted with his 75 nin and heard a lot of his annoying and noobish bragging. Once he hit 75 he put merit points into EMNITY, yes, that's right EMNITY. um . . . correct me if I'm wrong but didn't he just tell me like 20 mins earlier that . "you don't need emnity. I never used emnity. you don't need it, get rid of it." Hypocritical don't you think? well anyway, I also find that when you switch to another job emnity is a merit trait that carries over. meaning, if you get +5 emnity off merit points you then start out every other job with +5 emnity. i would hate to be the tank when johnnyb decides to play whm. This very much explains why I could not keep hate to him. I usually do ok with trigger happy RNGs and BLMs but he was just totally blowing me away and i couldn't figure out why.

, so I cant say anything about it. But I do know that if I have a problem with someones style in a pt, and I happen to know a way to make things flow better, I'll spiel out some advice. He should do the same. If Marael couldnt hold hate against Johnnyb's arrow spammage, and he was concerned enough to make mention of it, and how he has a 75nin, he should have had information readily available with such expertise in the job. I mean, if I had a level 75 job, I'd do my utmost to know that job in and out. If he cant offer advice on how to hold hate at 60 as a nin, should he be bragging about his 75 nin? I dunno. I just dont think everyone should say "he's my friend so he's really good". Alright. He's your friend. Thats excellent. Give us a situation where he's disproved what happened to Marael. Thats me two cents. Hate me or love me. Or..Be indifferent to me. Weeee!
