/sigh yet again

Alright so now my computer is being a jackass. Now the graphics card is F**king up >.>. The screen will go all trippy with colours then say something like "there was a problem with your ATI and had to reset to fix the problem" or something along those lines. anyway, does anyone know what i need to do? i'm about to take a bat to this computer and be done with it.

Gotta ask the basic q's:

1. Got the latest official drivers from here? (right-click, Save As...)
2. Got the latest DirectX from here? (it will attempt to verify your WinXP serial #, pirated copies will fail)
3. Does this problem reoccur during a specific application / game?

Well i don't know jack about the first 2 and it happens whenever(i had best buy install the graphics card >.<), I could be on the net and it'd happen or just playing the game and it would happen.

Alrighty, well then do the first one. Reboot.

Do the second one. Reboot.

Try to make the problem happen again. Post your results. It could be a number of things causing this problem, and the above are just standard measures to eliminate some possibilities.

edit: you may have problems with step 2. If you're using a hacked copy of WinXP, the only way to obtain DirectX 9.0c is by enabling Automatic Updates in Windows and waiting for DX9 to be auto-downloaded.

Yeah i just got the update for the directX 9.0 last night.
