I feel like quitting =/

Nothing left for me in game.

Sure fishing is nice to talk to ls and all...but after a week of fishing and nothing else, its boring.

Lvling SAM is a chore. So boring it isnt funny. 30-60min into a pt i get really bored and almost fall asleep at the computer.

Lvling other jobs does not interest me. I've tried, but SAm wsa the only one I feel I could really play.

Along with lvling, being backstabbed from people I thought friends made me want to not PT even more.

So basically, anyone have anything that might spark some interest in FFXI again? (don't say lv a dif job or synth -_-). Thanks :?

Don't turn the game into a chore. That's my only advice. The majority of people I meet are in a race to endgame. There's nothing more to FFXI than character level. Getting equipment, doing the plot, quests, farming, crafting - these are all simply means to make getting more exp faster. People level in zones they hate, and they hate every zone they level in. Valkurm, Qufim, Jungles 1&2, etc - it never ends. They farm, even though they think it's boring. They pour money into crafting, not because it's enjoyable to them, but because they'll be gimp without uber gear. They do quests and advance to rank 5 not because they like the story, but because they have to get to 75 right away and be powerful. I'm an XI addict that could be 50 or 60 by the hours I put in. Instead, I'm only level 32, because I've tried as best I can to avoid the endless cycle that kills most others.

I just came back from a little over a 1 month break and I can say I enjoyed myself tonight. Sometimes getting distance is all you need. Although once you stop enjoying the "game" there isn't really any reason to force yourself to play it. Usually when I start to feel like you are I run into a really nice person or a great party and it shows me exactly why I love this game.

aawww, i feel for you Naly. i'm sorta in the same predicament. did the whole fishing, synthing, farming, leveling different jobs, chatting in LS, meeting new greedy ppl, quests, missions, zilart... but pretty much, leveling those high level jobs DOES and IS like work. even with CoP out, i haven't thought about buying it yet. the only thing that makes me sorta still play is my younger baby brother. he plays occasionally. but everytime he's on, i get excited and i try to help him the best of my ability. he lives on the east coast while i'm on the west coast. but yeah... with like everything, especially life, there's always an end. and life moves on. so i really dont have anying encouraging to say, but i do wish you the best of luck in all your endeavors when and if you decide to leave FFXI.

Thing is i would LOVE to do rank/zilart missions.

But you need to know people...a lot of people...that in turn know people

I don't

I've basically taken a month off of lvling, but found there isnt anything that I enjoy doing in spare time :?

This would be the place to do that.

where are you from? and how old? should i check online and check the popping scenes ^^

yeh, rank missions & zilarts are all about ppl you know. but aren't you in a linkshell? or don't you party with almost samiliar ppl?

maybe you should try something new. i live in san diego... if i'm not at work or i'm not on FFXI, i'm either 1)at the beach playing a)basketball b)volleyball c)surfing d)swimming 2)at a random friend's house a)playing basketball b)playing madden 2005 ^^ weeee~ c)drinking etc etc... list goes on. try something that you've never done.. and get into it ^^ i mean, we only live once. i know i hope you don't plan on playing FFXI until you got gray hairs in a wheel chair!! ><;;

you have a D&B nearby? food, drinks.. video games galore... pool.. lots of ppl... lots of girls if you're a guy.. lots of guys if you're a girl... ^^

Try migration! A new server might be exciting, and you'll get to meett new people and see a completely fresh economy, and who knows? Maybe most of the EU players won't be as clueless as the NA! *puts on flamehelmet*

WTF Naff!? Why dont I get a flame-helmet?!

God damnit im pissed now.

question is, will the economy drop or raise. emp hairpin for example, i have seen posts on other MB almost doubling what it is sold for on our server. and is it going to be easier to camp for the nm... makes ya wonder whats gonna happen on the new server

Dave & Busters... Arcade/Bar/Restraunt type of seen...

Funny you say that,

quick story on D&B

As some of you know I work at a radio station in Arizona. Well, there was a DJ that worked here for a few years then moved to Texas with some gal. She ended up divorcing him and leaving. Sooo....he met some gal online and at some point sent him pictures of some random pictures of girls SHE found on the net. Convinced, SHE moved him out to California. They got out there and he met her "friend" which was actually her putting up a front. Eventually, they got to talking more and somehow the "friend" convinced this guy Al Lama, to murder her husband.

So this gal Cathleen Quinn said she would take her husband out to Dave and Busters (D&B) for some drinks and dinner. After dinner she got "lost" on the way back where Al Lama was lying in wait. As she stopped he jumped outta the bushes and commenced to stabbing the husband in the face then when his knife broke, he removed the string from his hooded sweatshirt and finished him off by strangulation. Needless to say the plan was very hokie and it failed.

The husband died but thier plan fell apart after that. Within 1 day they were both indicted on 3 counts Murder 1, Premeditation, Lying in wait. Then Cathleen also got an additional charge of Murder for Financial gain.

After I covered their trial for almost a year in California they were both found guilty but not until Cathleen testified against Al. She showed no signs of remorse what so ever. And to make matters worse she was butt fuckin' ugly. (not to say that would justify it but maybe some slight rationalization.)

Damn I'm rambling.

Ok so the moral:

Ummm I guess if you have a nice life insurance plan and don't normally drink, don't go to D&B and drink with your wife that you have had a rocky relationship with.

(maybe that will rationalize this story)

Sorry this is posted in the wrong place but...I had to tell me story of Dave and Busters.

Sorry for the way of tangent all I try to limit these,

Mohoso

Oh yeah and stay away from D&B go to Game Works instead.

Mo....
/further derails this thread
I have a D&B Story too. Nothing to do with murder though lol. The have a game there called PIU(Pump it up). It's a lot like DDR except there are 5 panels, and they really make you freestyle on some of the songs. I went there just about every other night to play when Keits and I lived in Cincinnati. (I was in a lot better shape then too, mind you) /grumble stupid FFXI. Anyway, I was there with my friend Chase, playing on the harder mode, and playing the song that makes you drop to your knees like 5 times in a row. This was after playing about 2 songs. We were jumping around and having a good ole time, then I go for the last drop, and RIIIIIP. I felt an odd breeze. I was curious, so I reached around... I RIPPED MY JEANS FROM MY ASS TO MY KNEES.    I was so embarassed I ran out of D&B and didn't go there again for like a week. So, that was my story, and I'm serious about the server migration thing. It's very exciting.

I know how you feel even tho i'm a lowbie (L10 still grrrr)
It feels like there's never ending tnl bar
Endless supply of clueless people
Endless to do/buy list

I've thought of giving up but
i held on
I'm not sure why but
it feels like everytime i'm like
OMG i lvled down again
my brain says c'mon 1 more Lvl!
Unlike most i don't play too often
Maybe 3-5 hours a week if i'm lucky
So before you delete your Character
Take a week,or a month off
or get two brothers
get them hooked on some game
and have one claim that
because he owns it he can kick you off
when ever he wants
Then you'll get back in the vibe
Promise

"or get two brothers "

That might take some time

would 2 sons work? :P

/em yells "who wants me tonight?"

I don't have a LS that is around my lv range too much, and most of my friends are no longer in game :? so that may be part of the reason
