Sigs....

Ok, this isn't really much of a flame, but I have been noticing this for sometime, and it really annoys me... I decided to post here to see if anyone else noticed this and it gets on their nerves too

What's up with level 20 characters that have, in their sigs, their character in full relic/abjuration items, etc? I can understand a 70+ doing this, even if they don't have the items, at least they can wear them. (but it still bugs me to see that lol)

Just is sort of annoying to see someone's sig, with RNG, WHM, RDM, DRK, NIN, PLD in full relic, then look at their job levels.... and see:
58 RNG
41 WHM
32 RDM
12 DRK
7 NIN
18 PLD

Just curious if anyone else has noticed this... I realize This is a pretty stupid post, but going through the forums today I saw more and more of them :roll: work for your level and gear then show it off, in game and in your sig, that's my opinion at least... otherwise when I see something like this I'm thinking this person was thinking "My character isn't cool enough, I'll make him seem cooler w/my sig"

but yeah.... that's all the bitching I have to do.... I'll see if anyone feels the same way heh
 
Shouldn't feel bad about making a thread when you didnt know another one exsisted. But yea, he got this idea from me >_> I make sigs for people, and some come to me and ask me for different gear. My response? {That's too bad.}. When you make a sig of tons of shots of your character in AF's you're not even in yet, it provides a false image of yourself. People expect you to atleast have -one- of them up that high. But then they look and see a good percent are 30 and below, while maybe one is to the mid fifties, I just think its annoying.

Maybe I just dont like it because I've actually worked for two sets of AF, but ah well, one day they'll get AF and think its so cool, but then when they go to put thier -actual- character in thier sig, he/she'll not seem as cool, and its thier loss or just give up by the mid 50's like 80% of people lol
 
Your sig lies. You're shorter than that and you know it. :wink:
 
My sig is a lie too, I look a lot more godly in person, believe me.
 
I put the AF armor in my sigs for two reasons.

One, so you can actually get teh jokes.

Two, because it looks cool.

I don't think it matters. Its honestly more or less a signature, so you want people to know what job you are, or what your character looks like, etc.

Not to mention, you honestly would expect people to change their sigs every time a person levels up and changes armor? Comeon.
 
For most people, it's what they hope to achieve in the game. To them, getting AF in one job or more is a great accomplishment and a goal they are striving towards.
 
Thats the exact reason I got it in mine Lavi. I am not there yet but I am getting close and it gives me a visual to shoot for.
 
So Pannda... What does a person have to do to get a pimp ass sig made? Everytime I think of Meeze's I laugh... Who's idea was that? Meezuschrist lol.. Im rather sick of my boring old no image sig...

This i think is a huge part of it. You arent gonna know what job someone is if they depict themselves with a generic armor, like my Brigidane for example. If i showed myself with that, could you tell what job i was? No, not unless i put myself in attack position with 2 knives, and in that case im not necessarily a thief. Now with the AF on, you KNOW im a thief. I just like to add text so those who dont know much about the game could figure it out.
 
My sig clearly shows my main/sub as Bronson Pinchot/Hulk Hogan.

I don't really care... It makes me do the little 'eye-roll' thing kinda like when i see my kid sister run out of the bathroom with mommy's makeup on. It just doesn't fit unless you're old enough to wear it. But I can't get mad about it. hehe.
 
Are you questioning my pimping skill?!?!? I had to slap alot of ho's to get my skill up that high, nevermind raising gill to pimp out my Chocobo

I didn't know BLM/DRG was a good combo... :shock:


(BLM because of the Burst sign, and Hulk seems to be holding an imaginary Polearm weapon)
