Is anyone else shitting bricks for this game as well? Silent Hill is one of my favourite franchises and I CANNOT wait until the end of this month for it.

Trailer:

Fans should know who that truck driver is. =0

These games are so psychological, I love it.

i think this would be considered general gaming since its multi plat, but i honestly am impatient for it...and then again doubtful...i mean...pyramid head is in it...makes no sense with what he is...and a few other things that make it look like they mashed up parts from each silent hill to appease fans. not sure what to expect since i love silent hill

I forgot that its coming to the PC and 360 until after I posted this and was reading on Gamespot. A mod can move this.

I think they could have switched it up other then Pyramid Head like they did with the butcher in origins but we really don't know what it's relevance is yet, so I have hope.

The only Silent Hill game that let me down was 4 and that's because I just didn't get it. On top of that, it wasn't even ment to be a Silent Hill game but last minute they slaped the title on it... from what I read in some magazine.

I think all of the ones after the first one are garbage. The series as a whole is about as inconstant as they come, story wise. The series is kind of like the FF of the survival-horror genre except they re-hash the same story over and over instead of findin' a new one. This looks exactly like the movie and exactly like the first game. The game play is always good though. I just don't like the feel I get while playin' these games anymore. It's like sortin' through a cluster-fuck.

Preordered it a long time ago... I will schedule a gaming night ahead of time :P

If you play close enough detail, they are pretty different and they're all connected, especially 1 and 3. 0 parts where 1 begins. I can't remember 2 for the life of me but I loved it. The only one I can think of that was re-hashing the same story over again and that had nothing to do with anything is 4, but like I said Konami screwed that up because it wasn't even ment to be a Silent Hill.

Origins was the most psychologial and 1 was the most fun in my opinion. Origins you really have to pay attention to fine detail.

Silent Hill 2 was sort of a back story.. kind of like something going on in the distance. It sets up that the town is also terrorizing people of sinful nature, as well as the people associated with its recent, uh, manifestations. There are a few links between Silent Hill 4 and Silent Hill 2, but Silent Hill 2 is mostly out of the main continuum. Personally, Silent Hill 2 is my favorite because of the way it expressed itself in terms of sexual frustrations, murder, and all sorts of wacky things. The entire town could represent James (the main protagonist) and all the monsters have links to his cerebral feelings. Pretty crazy shit.

That's what I love about this game, everything has a resemblence even the monsters. I'm convinced that Mary and the girl were two in one.

Payin' close enough attention is what lead me to find out they're all the same. It doesn't matter what you change, characters, levels, monsters, if the basic premises are the same, the game is the same. I look at the series like a ghost story that has been in my family for years and years. Everyone who told it to me made it a little different, gave it their own spin, but in the end, it's just the same story.

With that bein' said though, due to lack of decent games these days, especially Survival Horror, I'll probably pick this up/rent to increase my Gamerscore. I haven't played a Silent Hill since 3 so it may be fun. I recently picked up and played Tomb Raider: Anniversary and I have to say they just don't make games like they use too. Resident Evil kind of deviated from where I liked it but Silent Hill has stayed, though be it painful story wise, the same it looks. So maybe it'll have nostalgia on its side like TR:A did.

Moved to correct forum.

Also, nifty gift with preorder and purchase is the movie Silent Hill on DVD.

question;

is the PS3 region free? 'cause this game was originally ment to get released on September 30th in Europe, then it was pushed back to end of October, and now we're looking at a November 30 release date for Europe...

If it is region free (which I hope, and think, if I remember right), I might just import it instead.

Silent Hill 2 was great, but it was really a spinoff of Jacob's Ladder as well. I have a nifty little thing that tied in all the silent hill games somewhere I should post here. The series is phenomenal.

Silent Hill 1 was amazing, I played it at night by myself and got the creeps. I didnt feel that the other games were as good, and the plot did repeat itself. I have some codes to open an extra level to SH 1 if anyone is interested.

I have the old PS1 version...is this code for that or was there a PC version? I'd definitely be interested in this.

Ps1 version. Only game I have played on PC was Warcraft and Starcraft, oh and AOE (age of empires) :P

Age of empires rocks too! I'd be very interested in this code though. I'd love to get back into these games. It's been a while since I've really had a Silent Hill playthrough. But then again...October is coming up and it's the best time for it!

I'm looking forward to the new one, but part of me screams mentally at the idea of the main character being a soldier who knows how to fight. Part of the tension in the series is a direct result of playing the exact opposite, flailing around wildly with a pipe or whatever you can find and being generally ineffective.

I know the developers say they're upping the ante a bit to compensate for the new combat abilities, but I worry that they'll screw it up.

I'll buy it anyway. I won't be able to resist.

Open up the Options menu, press L1, L2, R1 or R2 to open an extra menu. This is for starts but I have a lot of codes and how to get the Channeling Stone, also what to do w/ it. I'll pm you some info ^^
