Silk thread is up to 18K/stack. People are camping the clothcraft guild for crawler cocoons now (including me). Any other items randomly jump to 150% of their normal value?

Nice. Farming time!
:P

j/k, I've been making a living on that and beehive chips mostly.

It's you that's been jacking them up! How am I going to make silent oils now you brat! >_>

joking.

mostly.

They banend the gil sellers camping threads. Supply and demand, supply is now lower demand is higher. Never seen so many peeps pling a craft as there is now on clothcraft.

Yeah, loads of people have been pling cloth lately, me included. I got from 34 to 50 in 3 days with profit =).

Anyway, there was 1 stack of thread on auction this morning, and the person buying all of the thread was sitting next to me making cloth.

So much for me making a profit on velvet cloth >.>.

Meh, I NEVER drive prices up.
I undercut and keep things moving.
For hardcore famring, that's the only way to get rid of everything.

I farm like a bastard and spread the goods out across 7 chars...
49 possible AH spots to sell things.

Sometimes I still end up "backed up", and need to take a couple days off to allow everything to move through.

If I actually tried to get more than PH, I'd never sell anything. ><
I say, Thank God for the people that try and raise the prices. It allows me to keep things moving.

Ha ha velvet cloth are never profit unless you make your own cotton threads from gobbie armor with high sucess rate. They sell REAL slow. Insect fletchings where looking up for a few days but have come crashing down.

Saruta Cotton was 5k earlier this week.

Also, unless I'm an ignorant fool, I found it surprising to see Hare Meat at 3.2k a stack in Windy.

LOL speaking of clothcraft...

About 3 minutes after i read this thread the first time someone asked my to buy them 6 stacks of flax flowers since i was near the vendor. Coincidence? or just a bunch of people levelling the craft?

Yea... I got a few silk threads while lvling up my staff skill in Tahrongi. I went back to the AH expecting to see them at 600-700 and imagine my surprise when I saw them at a solid 1K each! Unfortunatelty that can also be bad for people like me who are slowly trying to raise their crafting(aka dont have the previous money for pling craft). But alas, things must go on...

ANd this new AH system was supposed to 'stabilize' the economy?

fire crystals were 3,300 gill a stack last night in windy woods AH.
...time to start a low level job and farm crystals.

Well NOBODY has been making them lately. Further, I desynth almost all of my materials. Lastly, I can make a profit off of them. If you can't, too bad, I'm not going to reveal my technique.

Skilling off of insect fletchings is a BAD idea unless you know someone that needs a ton of them; they sell WAY too slowly. But I did happen to notice that there were no stacks available in windurst this morning.

Somone was asking for advice earlier this week and here is the math:

Yes you could start hording Silk threads and making them at lvl 45.... Bu tyour Failure rate would hurt considerably... If you think about it, What is the difference between Crafting a llv 52 craft at 52 Vs. 45? Failure. If you want to stock up on Silk threads, well do so, But don't skill up on em. You are not Killing two birds with one stone.

Lvl 42-45 Will be the same for either recipe.
Lvl 45-52 With insect Flectchings: See Ex A
Lvl 45-52 With Silk Thread Recipe: See Ex B

Assume the folowing:
Loss: 15% (for every 6 or so synths, you have a Falure resulting in the loss of all materials. Mor in the beginning less towards the end.)

Ex A:
45-52:
Synths ~100
Cost/Synth: 200g-250g
(Cost Derivation: (Insect wings 50g-100g ea. x 2) +150 for crystal)
Total Cost lvl 45-52: 20,000g-25,000g
est Loss to Catastrophic Failure: 3,000g-3,750g
est recovery*: 25,500g
Delta: +500g
(*Recovery based on AH Price of Insect Fletchings @600g/Stack)

Ex B:
45-52:
Synths ~100
Cost/Synth: 700g-900g
(Cost Derivation: (Crawler Cocoon 300g-400g x2) +100 for crystal)
Total Cost: lvl 45-52: 70,000g-90,000g
est. Loss to Catastrophic Failure: 10,500g-13,500g
est. Recovery*: 51,000
Delta: -19,000g-39,000g
(*Recovery based on AH Price of Silk Thread @600ea.)

Granted a lot of these numbers are estimates... But you should ge tthe Idea.

Silk thread is over double the price you listed, it's currently 1,333 each in stacks. Agreeing with everything else you said, est recovery: 113,333

43,333-23,333k profit.

Further, unless you have 8 mules you cannot sell that many insect fletchings over AH, they just don't sell that fast anywhere.
