Silverhook and Blackbeard.... My Trip of horror

A couple days ago I was riding the Selbina Ferry to hopefull get my Sand Charm so i could get my "Bosanaie Oblieeqe" (pardon my spelling since i cant use auto-translator) map. And low and behold on the second ride Pirates Attacked. Me being a Fearless Lev70 PLD wasnt worried about the pirates at all, But the Sea Horror i had my doubts on. So i Partied with a 58NIN who was on the boat, just incase the Sea Horror happend to spawn.

Well As the pirates attacked they did there thing and i proceeded to beat the living crap out of the skelies. As the next batch of Skelies poped noticed something odd. an NM named BlackBeard. Me knowing it was pretty stong began to warn the NIN in my party but it was to late she attacked it so went to go help her. Unfortunatly we both where beaten without mercy. and layed there dead till the pirates left.

Luckily there was a High level JP WHM that Raised me and her and we decided to give it another shot. So we rode the ferry 3 more times befor the next set of Pirates showed up. By this time one of the NINs friends wanted to help us so we picked up a 40ish SMN.

When the pirates attacked the 3 of us agian were decimating the skelies Then Silverhook Poped.. i was like WTF... what is the chance of the 2nms poping on consecutive trips. but this time Me and the NIN were wise and stayed clear of it. SMN attaked it and died, I raised her she got agro and died agian. then the WHM R2ed her. And i ended up getting my Sand charm.
but.

I was a PLD/NIN for this trip so holding hate agianst the NM would have been a problem if we decided to fight silver beard.

Silverhook and Blackbeard were added a while back during an update. It used to be Sea Horror was the scariest thing on the boat, but I think both these guys could punk him pretty good. Only advantage he'd have is MNK vs. bones.

Silverhook tried to eat my brains a while back on a random boat ride I decided to take on a whim.... Actually, he was trying to eat the brains of a couple WHM who were there to camp him I think... only things didn't work out quite as planned when they started getting beaten half to death. I jumped in to help them out, and it turned out that while his physical attacks were nothing special, his magic was... annoying. >.>

Tele-Dem saved the day.

First day they gave us these NMs

I was escorting a friend that started fresh from Windurst to San d'Oria. When we were on the ship to Selbina, Pirates came,so myfirst reaction was to slaughter them. There was also a ranger and a BLM on the ship,we all dove into action.

I casted Diaga while i had Stoneskin up and started cutting them down.I noticed the BLM and RNG were gone and one of the pirates was baking up a flood spell. By this time my stoneskin was not fresh, but i was confident that i would be able to survive the impact and heal up. By the time i noticed that pirate was Blackbeard it released the flood spell. 600 and change DMG and it did something called Cloud for another 200 and change DMG. 2 seconds after, i was dead. i never knew this cloud even happened until i read the transcript. The Readout was connected to my flood damage report.

Because i was escorting a friend who was at a lower level at the time, i wasn't too impressed with Blackbeard.

Got both the Sea Robber and Seawolf (<3 especially to Reishu, Weap and Baj for the disgustingly large amount of time put in to camping these guys til they actually DROPPED...1/4 and 1/2..)

Blackbeard is about L72, Silverhook about L70. Don't remember Silverhook's 2h, but Blackbeard uses Meikyo Shisui (USUALLY Black Cloud for 700-900 AOE, but it can Blood Saber for that much as well, which tends to screw the fight. Hell Slash will 1-shot someone if he 2h's with it, can do 700-2000)

You're lucky if they only do Flood...they can do Waterga III, which even with Shell IV and 110MND, can hit for 1300 if unresisted.

That's about it..oh, uhm, throwing anyone below L60 is like, the worst idea possible, since Blood Saber and all =P

Blackbeard drops Sea Robber Cudgel (42DMG 340Delay, +5MND +15att -5acc)
Silverhook drops Seawolf Cudgel (40DMG 340Delay, +5STR -5att +15acc)

Both are L68, WHM only. Pretty fun to dual wield, though I still needto get NIN higher for it to be real useful..
