Six-Axis Linux Robot

I think this just disproved all the "ITS TILT ONRY!" people.

It could have been done with a magnet(would that have been motion sensing?), but still interesting.

Totally expected you or Skaw to say that. And technically, even though that's not what they did, it would still be "motion sensing." Except it would've been from the magnets, not the SixAxis. Why do you even post on the PS3 board?

EDIT: Okay, this is weird as hell. Every time I quote a post and post it it posts under Marajade's post. It's also saying the time I posted is before Anttaru's post (below mine), which is sort of true, but not quite. The post above this one, which I couldn't remember the contents of, is simply because there was no post there to begin with. Weird as hell.

DOUBLE EDIT: Maybe the forum clock is fucked?

Because you keep acting like mundane shit is groundbreaking news? It's interesting that someone hacked the tilt sensors to be able to control other things, but it's not really a big deal. It's been done before with other devices but no one made a big deal out of it. I keep hoping something impressive will come out, but instead it's just people talking about non-selling points.

Yeah, the clock has been fucked today, it's been going on in most threads.

The world is still learning about Bluetooth's abilities. It's still the new stuff.

It would be an interesting world if we can make electric hover thingies to work with this technology.

Did I say it was ground breaking news? You're reading way too much into it. I thought it was kind of cool, especially from a development viewpoint, and decided to share it. Nothing more, nothing less. You're obviously not going to see the point when you don't want to. Nobody "hacked" the tilt sensors. I realize that the article I linked to says it was "hacked." And it was... "hacked" in the sense that it was used outside of its original realm of intent. Am I hacking C++ when I make a template that "runs an entire program" before you would expect it to? No. That's how they were designed to be used. Developers will be using stuff like this. But it's not the Wii so it's not cool, important, or even worthwhile.

Seriously, quit the blatant fanboyism. If you don't like the PS3 great. Nobody here (on the PS3 board) cares. Motion sensing has been around for fucking ever and because Nintendo's ripping you guys off with a Gamecube that features a new, cheap controller people somehow think it's revolutionary. People did it with the DS, too. If you want to live your life in ignorance have fun doing it with several other people. I'll be keeping track with real advancement in technology while you're playing Super Paper Mario, Pokemon or whatever other game that was marketed towards a twelve-year-old (please, don't try to argue this point - you've probably never even seen a game design doc; the secondary target audience probably is otaku aged 16-28.) audience that is seemingly immature to dislike.

You remind me of this douchebag (not saying you are one; I just hate this particular person) that came over to my apartment the other day (he's a "friend" of my roommate). I had just finished downloading a few demos off of the Playstation Network (MLB 2k7, some weird ass Japanese golf game, NBA 2k7, Virtua Tenis, and Ninja Gaiden), so I decided to play them. He comes barging in, declaring that the PS3 is an overpriced piece of shit, demands that we play The Godfather on the Wii because it's a better game, despite the fact that he never played it (might I add it's actually not that great of a game from what I saw on the Wii?), and continues to comment on how the visuals in every game I happened to be playing were horrible (Virtua Tennis and Ninja Gaiden, to be more precise). Now, you might not be understanding quite exactly what I'm getting at here, and given your responses to most my posts I honestly wouldn't expect you to, but essentially, you're coming into "my apartment" (read: the PS3 forum) and finding every little thing you can possibly find "wrong" (or that the Wii somehow does better even though it sports inferior technology aside from the controller's motion sensing - afterall, that's what the wiimote was made to do) with the PS3 just because you have some kind of grudge against it. Just let it go.
