And registration isn't closed to anyone. So that argument won't stand.

Some people just don't care enough or actively avoid this forum.

Chatbox, you can take a screenshot and PM a mod/admin. Haven't gotten one from you yet.

Because I don't care about people talking about others.

Blogs, you can report those as well. Haven't seen a reported blog from you either.

Because I don't care about blogs in general, I find them amazingly attention whorey.

Private Messages well, me personally I consider those like an AIM conversation. We aren't out here encouraging people to harass and stalk other posters via private messages though, they have a different function.

So why aren't social groups just considered mass AIM conversations then? They're private in that you need to be invited to them, in the same way private messages are private because you aren't listed in the send field.

Regardless, the point still stands that a lot of talking about people behind their backs goes on in the flameboard anyway. Whining about it happening elsewhere as well is ridiculous.

Bitching about not being able to circumvent existing rules is equally stupid.

I agree, but why do we even have rules if they're so loosely enforced? It's nice to know Zepharya and mines little side posts in the Narissa thread got the boot, despited still being on topic. Yet Dejavu's two-image, no-text post still remains.

If you don't care about any of these things, then why are we even having this conversation?

I still don't understand why its such a big deal to ask people to keep their flaming in one section of the site.

So this basically boils down to your butthurt because your posts got deleted on the other thread and another posters didn't?

We aren't denying access to those people who just don't care enough or actively avoid this forum. Their loss plain and simple.

Sure, but you do deny people who had been banned.

And if you don't care about others talking about others then why post?

Ok, Mr. Literal. I don't care about people talking about others behind their backs.

Some people won't find it very comfortable to come to this place knowing there's a place where only chosen people can go to to mock and ridicule others who post. The reason that it's not allowed in a social group is because it wasn't allowed in the hidden forums and that is what the social groups are. Same rules apply.

But yet, it can still happen in Private Messages? I don't care how you consider them, they're still a part of this forum.

Oh look at this "You dislike when rules are enforced on you, but not other posters."

To which, I'd reply yes.

Use it. Jeez.

Just to make it clear, I'm not supporting Dejavu's shit social group in the slightest. I'm just posting why it shouldn't be considered a problem.

Why should I? It's obvious mods aren't doing what they volunteered to do in the first place if they're just skimming over it. Nevermind the thought of someone reading and finding a sidebar about $8s of chocolate milk, in a thread where the OP admits to spending a ton of money on someone they cared about, really a problem to the point where they'd alert it?

And yet, another avenue to flame, when one is plenty, will not be implemented, or promoted.

Flaming is allowed inside the FB only. Keep it simple, people.

There is nothing more to say.

The cops ticketed me because I drove 45 in a 30, and the courts upheld it.

The courts let a thief successfully sue his victim for damages because he hit him in the head with a baseball bat.

I'm never calling the cops again.

Yep, makes perfect sense!

Yeah, and there are rules against flaming a banned person iirc. So once again, toss out that argument.

Ok, Mr. Literal. I don't care about people talking about others behind their backs.

You may not, but some others do. Take a look at the thread, there are some people who have already expressed their dislike towards a group like this.

But yet, it can still happen in Private Messages? I don't care how you consider them, they're still a part of this forum.

They are part of this forum for sure. However, if you go to a description of a private message it doesn't say "Please use these to flame other people, stalk other users, and make plans to post nude pictures so you can get a perma-ban!" The social group in question basically said that it was for flaming and flamebaiting. That's why these two are different. I'm really hoping you can see the different between the two.

Oh look at this "You dislike when rules are enforced on you, but not other posters."

Tristam hit it on the ball. I don't see a reported post from you in that thread. Try using it instead of waiting for the daily installment of "MODS MAKE ME ANGRY GRRR!"fest.

Just to make it clear, I'm not supporting Dejavu's shit social group in the slightest. I'm just posting why it shouldn't be considered a problem.

And I've responded why it is. It's already happened to users in this forum and it makes for a shitty time between users. I speak from experience, not from what I think will happen.

Well, just to be clear, I had no problem with Dejavu's post. I had a problem with my on topic post being deleted, but his image macro post remaining. You guys are talking about rules being rules, right? Well enforce them all the time, and not just when someone finds a problem with someones post.

You won't use it? Well then piss off and get out of this thread. No use in complaining about something when we have given you a clear answer and you are too dense to realize the problem isn't with us, but with you feeling like it will hurt your pride if you click that report button.

Skaw, I'm the one that deleted the milk derail. I saw the first post, the second post, the third, and so on. After I saw it was taking the thread in a different direction than the OP, I moved on it.

No one continued Deja's derail. To be honest, it was just a picture, and people could interpret it as they liked. I initially interpred it to be like the flame was disgusting but people couldn't look away - like a donkey show.

After you make your post in SAF and Deja made his, I can see where your coming from. It remains now because it helps illustrate a point you made so it isn't confusing for anyone else who reads the SAF thread or this thread who hasn't already seen it.

Why volunteer to be a moderator if you aren't even going to actively moderate until someone tells you to get off your ass?

It was still on topic though. It was a discussion about spending a lot on someone you care about, in a thread where the OP comes out admitting he spent a ton of cash on someone moronically.

Thanks for admitting you saw it and did nothing about it.

Why not use the functions of the board (which the report function is) to bring attention to something that the mods may have overlooked?
