Sketch-a-letch

[Mattaru]

I like to draw pictures time to time. Here are a couple I've done over the passt couple days.

This one is most likely going to be a 4-5 layer stencil either on some real absorbent wood (stencils are done with different layered cutouts and spray paint usually) or just on canvas:

The head on the left has a little rough shading just to show what colors are what.

Another rough sketch, I haven't done the background or shading on it yet because I haven't decided on color scheme, lighting and mood on it ... or even what medium if I decide to do a painting. It is tentatively called 'god machine'.

The machine thing kinda reminds me of Howl's Moving Castle. Did you draw inspiration from that movie? If you haven't seen it, you should, freakin' awesome.

Definitely Howl inspired, I had recently watched it. I started doing the shading on it and it is looking real good, but I stopped working on it. Want to pull some stuff of and accentuate others, pulling off some of the howl stuff and reworking it to do a watercolor maybe. Miyazaki is one of my favorite artists and is the only anime I am willing to watch or buy anymore unless something really impressive comes out.

Some new stuff coming up soon, still just some sketches and a silk screen idea. Ive been snowed in but will be doing some painting stuff after I make a supply run.

Yeah, Miyazaki is an amazing artist. I don't really watch anime as much as I used to, but I never miss a Miyazaki movie. Studio Ghibli is definitely one of the greatest things going right now worldwide as far as movies are concerned.

Some Old Stencil stuff:

These are pretty simple stencils, the top one was a test of a stencil I just made, came out meh its a raccoon reaching through a fence. I've done the bottom one alot and recently handpainted it a couple times on a friends bag. More complex stencils are multiple layers and multicolored. Don't have any scanned, but hopefully soon when I do the tiger one.

btw: medium - ...manilla folders and krylon haha.
