Slapping someone is different than poking someone. If you did it on the street to someone you didn't know, what kind of response could you expect?
I know it's just a game, etc...But emotes are a way of extending RL emotion. Different emotes exist to display different expressions and emotions towards someone.
It's different if one of my friends comes up and slaps me. I understand that we're playing around in the "game" context. If (for instance) Colbwa comes up and slaps me, it's safe to assume that is not a friendly gesture. If you are Unknown to me and you slap me, I'd also tend to think that isn't exactly friendly.
If your goal is to send a message similar to poking, it's best to stick with poking. That still comes off playful enough. Slapping = rude.
Expect something rude in return if you go around slapping people.

lmao@stiggy... i love this thread, cause obviously, ppl take it TOO SERIOUSLY. ppl's pussies get hurt for little things, and i find it really ridiculous. if some random person slapped me, WHO CARES, cause i dont, and i go on with my business. ppl that send you tells cause you slap em, i just find it funny. ppl that ask me "can i examine you?" is funny too, cause i dont care either. fucking examine me, who cares, just do it already.
but back on subject, stiggy, whoever gives you problems just because you did an emote, are seriously troubled and... imo, young in age, cause imo (again), older ppl dont really give a damn if you slap em or not even if you dont know em or not.

It wasn't even the person who I slapped that got pissed. That's the point I'm making. The girl I slapped had no problem with it. It was the douchebag standing 5 feet away that got all pissy.

/random /slap {No Thanks}. I don't mind getting slapped by someone i know, but someone i don't know i have no clue what their intentions are so i'm assuming i pissed them or someone they know off and that their intentions were hurtful, not playful (as most slaps aren't).
but seriously tho', are you, in any WAY or FORM, phsyically, mentally, whatever... hurt by an emote slap from a random person? i mean, if you are connected to your character in-game by some wiring or some plug (etc etc) that you can feel that person's emote slap, then ok, then ppl shouldn't slap random ppl in that case.
