So i get bored with the whole waiting for a pt in kazham thing and decide to kill some copper quadavs in badeaux for bastok mission 3-1(at least i think thats which one it is)...im going solo for a while so its not exactly the fastest process in the world but i was looking to kill time anyway.

now here i am, fighting a coppper quadav and i see a taru walk up and examine me...names smalls...ive seen him before, his bazaar msg is welcome to small mart i had thought it was pretty funny...anyway after he checks me he runs by...maybe 30 seconds later i finish the fight and im resting to bring my hp back up and here comes smalls with 3 quadavs chasin him No warning or anything...normally id help but i was at half hp and the zone was 2 seconds away. so he zones em...they all come and kill me before i have a chance to move...and then he comes and walks all over my corpse before walkin off...asshat popped into my mind

so yeah that wasnt a great experience...anybody know him? is he famous for stuff like this?

I know him, I don't think he would do something like that (well the train.. you must admit we've all done that, but the walk all over body part). =/ He's generally nice/helpful and stuff. However.. his brother I could see doing something like that =/ could of been him playing on small's char.

it happens...

people do request that if you have a train just take the death.
that way everyone in the zone will be ok.

well.... i am good-hearted but not THAT good hearted.
if the zone is close...I'm going for it.

(though I will announce the train so others may evade)

If a train goes past you and you are right next to the zone...why did you stick around? You should have just took off as soon as you saw him coming.

He was in the middle of a fight already which is why he didnt move. Though If it were me I would have disengaged and zoned, but we all can't think of these things on the drop of a hat you know.

maybe 30 seconds later i finish the fight and im resting to bring my hp back up and here comes smalls with 3 quadavs chasin him No warning or anything
He was just sitting there and let the train come and get him. :?

Hmm, I've played with Smalls a few times, he's always been friendly and generally have had a good experience pting with him. I don't think he trained and got you killed on purpose. I must admit that their are times when i get ambushed and run for dear life, and somtimes i forget to shout out a warning, eh, it happens....

I had a run in with this asshat tonight, he was asking for a tele-holla in shouts for a bit, I was seeking for a party. He sends me a tell asking if i can do it, so I say ok. Join the party, I say "sup" no reply, money is traded I teleport. Even before I fully load after the tele hes gone from the party. I usually prot the person before they leave but he was gone quick time, no thank you no wave no nothing. So I send him a /tell saying "you're welcome". Hes like "I thanked you with the gill, why would I say thank you?" I reply it's common courtesy. He's like "you didn't do it for free, so I have no reason to thank you". We went on with some more banter back and forth about why I thought It's nice to be somewhat polite, and he went on with why it's not. I couldn't believe the nonsense this guy was saying and his general attitude. I doubt this clown has many friends in game or in real life with his out look and attitude he carries.

Do you say thank you to the IRS when you pay your taxes? The government is providing you with public services ya know.

He actually had a good point

Now, that doesnt mean I dont thank ppl who tele me, but really...your not doing it for free. So if someone doesnt thank you get over it. Its not like he didnt give you the 500 gil or something.

Yea Cecilx I usualy to some sort of thank you or a wave, I say thank you to the cashier at a store, or a take care, or some sort of farewell, I gave him/her for a service, they thanked me for money. If you do not want to fine whatever no skin off my back, I got my gil. It jsut leads me to think you got no personality, manners, or people skills.

Yeah good point. Why should he have to say thanks? Sure it might be common courtesy, but I buy a teleport because its usually much more convienent. When I spend 5 mins waiting for the teleporter to get ready and then teleport everyone else, they jsut wasted my time. Even if its wham-bam over, I BOUGHT a service. You dont see people getting pissed off if I dont say thanks at the store. I always do because its perfectly simple, but there is not a reason that I have to.

Good to know, two more people I wont tele.

It's called manners people, try to find some. You thank people for the service they provided you with, paying for it or not they provided you with something you needed. It's especially necessary when someone went out of their way because no one eles would help you.

He had a point my ass, he only had a point to other rude self centered assholes.

Huh? What? Your doing it for money. Went out of your way my ass :p

Seriously. He didnt say anything ok, he shouldve. I am not saying he shouldnt have. But I fail to see how its hurting you in any way to come here and whine about it.

Cecilx I agree with you. Maybe it's because I"m a fellow Canadian and feel absolutely horrible when I don't thank everybody for everything.

When I buy a slurpee I'm like "Thanks so much and have an awesome day!"

Is this necessary? No. Have I made people's day by doing this? Hell Yeah! I've had people go out of their way after me taking 2 seconds to thank them and tell me I made their day. Is there really a reason to thank them? No, but it makes me feel good and I can guarantee it made them feel a lot better. This is reason enough for me!! :D

I use to say thank you and your welcome a lot when I first did tele taxi's...then I realized it was a waste of time. Things like 'thank you' and 'your welcome' lose a great deal of meaning when transfered to the internet. On top of this, imagine the opposite extreme, if someone said thank you every single time you did anything for them (in game and irl), not only would it be annoying, but it would water down the comment and weaken its effect. On top of this it would become counter productive with so much time spent on these courtesies. This reminds me of the people I party with who feel the strange need to thank me everytime I haste them or cure them (usually non-tanks), its nice at first, then it gets old. :? My usual tele taxis go by without a single word said by either, and that's fine with me.

Don't take this to the wrong extreme however, for things where people actually go out of their way to help me such as af I will most definitly give a big 'thank you' (and it has more meaning since I don't say it for every little act).

Oh my god, that happened to me with RDM, I would cure them and they would be like
"OMG THX!@!!!"
me: "umm...you're in my group, it is my dutie..."
...nothing, i cast another cure...
"OMG THANX!!!!!1111"
me: >>;

For tele-taxi's, I always say Thank you, i mean, they are taking time to bring me to a telepoint...so I think it is necessary...

Well using that logic you could also say you were taking the time to cure the RDM when you really didn't have to because they had cures themselves and so s/he felt the need to thank you.

On the same note, I work in retail. I hear "Thanks" all the time. It doesn't mean anything, they are just saying to be polite. It drives me up the wall. I would much rather hear a sincere Thank You, then someone talking out their ass because they feel they're forced to say it. :P
