Smash Bros Brawl tournament (Underway)

What days were you planning it for because I'm busy this weekend. Seriously I hate just finding this shit out.
 
matches won't be this weekend, so don't worry, i still need to sort out who is fighting who, i have come up with in Idea of how to do it in a fair way.

I am not accepting anymore Entrants as of now though, just so i can get this thing on it's way
 
I'm getting pumped up for this, gonna have to practice my ass off to be able to compete with all this competition.

My opinion is to just do it like the original tourny's.

red = loser, green = winner

Just assign everyone a random opponent for the left column, and it will just go from there! I also showed how an odd (weird) number of entrants can be handled
 
Thanks, i was going to use that format, the reason i haven't come up with actual matches is because i don't want people whining about who they fought first blah blah blah
 
Just make a loser's bracket, so that everyone Vassage beats can duke it out for second place.
 
Oh i don't settle for losing, but my wifi sucks soooo bad that i didn't even want to think about trying to sign up for a tournament.
 
you should try tinkering with your router settings, it may help.

I get wifi lag as well, and it does suck, but you get used to it after a while... almost.

It seems to disproportionately help heavy characters, so using someone like Ike, Bowser, Ganondorf, or Snake may help. People wont have nearly as much time to react to your attacks due to input lag.

This may be true, but there's nothing worse than having your opponent obtain an item that brings you from 0% to 100% in an instant costing you your loss. :(

Nevertheless, I'd still love to join this tournament if it's still possible. Put me down as Toonlink if there's still room.

Normally, I would spectate, because I can record matches with my TV Tuner. But I'm not sure how I can spectate on a friend match --Maybe because some of you have the Spectator block up?

I don't know.

thats what i was thinking, have someone be a third person, and kill them self off to watch the match
 
lets make everyone turn off spectator block maybe? I will do that now.

edit - how does spec-ing in friends matches work?

You can't actively spectate a game in progress using the spectate thing. The actual spectate mode actually calls up games that already happened and were recorded on Nintendo's server.

The only way to do it would be to have a third player in the game suicide right away before the actual combatants start the fight - preferably before the first move - but the presence of a third player would introduce extra lag...
 
could we just give player 3 a handicap for like just one stock that way he or she

just jumps off once at the start and that's the end of it?
 
I don't know if it's too late, but would it be possible for me to change to Toon Link instead of Marth? I've found I'm a lot better at compensating for lag with him and would really prefer to be him for a serious competition online right now. If it's too late to switch... oh well
