I've seen a number of samurai use this, I've always used a foragers mantle and I was wondering how to compare the two. I remember someone mentioned that str songs boosted their ws dmg more than minuet did so, thoughts?\

Edit: Damn i fail, could someone fix it to Smilodon? XD

The new testing showed something to the effect that your attack doubles w/ the weaponskill and if your attack is capped on those mobs(Merit mobs usually) then smilodon is better, if not use foragers(HNMs)

those (very uncomplete) test show that adding attack to your WS while already having a high attack ( minuet, attack food) does close to nothing. While I didn't test this, I can bring my input here: I had a sam in a merit pt that did about 10% more average WS dmg (being elvaan) than me, while he was using sole sushi +1, and me coeurl sub. Didn't have full Gkatana merits nor overwhelm at that time.

A forager's mantle would still be good for any situation with less than 500 attack I beleve. So technically yes, smil+1 is better for merit mobs or stronger.

dunno which for WSing cause "shit's situational" in this game all the damn time.

sometimes i think folks get a little over analytical about how much dmg they can do.

So 500attack is the cap then, with zerk/food included. If one is at this they should use the smilodon for ws dmg then?

Buh bu but.... I wanna be, the very best. Like no one ever was...
