Smokers, don't worry

... I'm just curious, how does one die from Diarrhea... on second thought no don't answer that.

And woohoo I can keep smokeing <(-.-)>v-~

Well the smoker that works out 30 mins a day is in better shape than the non smoker that doesn't, and at 25 and smoking for 9 years I blew 18 year old non smokers off the PT course. So yeah I can believe that the "Truth" is that if your going to die of something your going to die of it. I mean sitting in grid lock is just as likely to cause lung cancer as a cigarette is. Oh and second hand smoke is no more dangerous than standing in front of your microwave. So think about that the next time you tell some one not to smoke around you while nuking your left over mashed potatoes.

Did anyone notice that on the list for heart attacks...

Last Year's Count: 7,300,000

Description: Symptoms of chest pain, nausea, and sweating may occur as the blood flow to the heart is interrupted.

At Risk: Smokers, high-stress individuals, Dick Cheney.

The Cure: Taking aspirin immediately can thin the blood and reduce clotting. Advanced cardiac life-support can restore heart function.

Prevention: Lower blood pressure, healthy diet, aspirin regimen

oh my.

Smokers don't need a reason to smoke more period. Smoking does kill, if you don't believe, then ask someone who's parent died by no other cause but IT. Plus you fail to think about those around you that your are hurting physically over-time due to 2nd hand smoke. I've got one of the worse lung capacities in comparisson to the average person (the length between breaths is highly noticeable). I've never had athsma or however it's spelt, or any other medical related issue that could be pin-pointed as a cause.

Smoking does not kill, it increases the risk for things. It does not directly cause death. Yes I smoke. My Grandmother also smokes, she has a very active job and has been smoking since she was about 16. My grandmother is something like 70.... I think (I feel bad now, I don't know my grandma's age ; ;) On the other hand my other Grandmother has never smoked in her life. she not very active. Now while she does't have lung cancer she does have a bad hip. So far Grandma who smokes is in much better health.

Smoking not killing is a lie. It all has to do w/your body makeup and well... no one is exactly the same. It kills, saying it doesn't is a bold faced lie. My father lived to be 55 he owned his own business, had no other health problems, except those related to his lungs which doctors had confirmed due to his smoking. My uncle died just last year for the same cause, yes "Lung Cancer" & he too had no other illnesses. Smoking kills gradually. Smoking for a short part of your life won't kill you no... it's when you KEEP smoking & reach a point during you lifespan when basically your body cannot handle it anymore & once again... everyone's body is different & has a different tollerancy to it.

Smoking is actually one of the most harmful drugs you can inflict upon your body. It constricts blood vessels (which very slowly but does result in eye damage, liver/kidney/lung/heart/brain(misc) damage, and drop in natural body temperature.); This can lead to chronic loss of appetite, nausea, shortness of breath, headaches, and/or joint pain among several other things.

A smoker who excerisizes 30 minutes a day can stomp a man who doesn't? Good for them, one guy's totally out of shape and the other isn't. Almost all of smoking's effects are an overtime thing, by the way, so of course for a dozen years or two you'll be able to brag about how it's not effected you in any way. (though some people've been unfortunate enough to develop Lung Cancer and other things within two months, secondhand or not)

If you think secondhand smoking, or even smoking in general, does no harm to someone, go turn on a car in a garage and sit in there for 30 minutes, see if it does no harm. Seriously, pretending smoking doesn't hurt anyone is the most ignorant crap I've seen in a LONG time.

And in response to George..the way you say that makes it sound like smoking made your other grandma healthier =P But really, just because nonsmoker (a) is less healthy than smoker (b) doesn't mean that smoking does minimal or nothing to the person...it's still gonna gradually screw up their entire body, they're just living healthier than the other person when it comes to other things (or is just lucky in avoiding stuff like slipping + hurting their hip and such)

And more people die of the flu than smoking because in the eastern countries where Influenza is rampant, there's no medicine (or even worse, little water), so the that disease can easily become fatal.

*edit* Just checked the list. COPD is caused solely by smoking, and it's above diarrhea =P

oh my.

I don't care how bad this sounds.. but that made me laugh XD for the suicide one I'm suprised they don't have

"At Risk: Emo people on myspace"

BY THE WAY!! to the smokers.. look at that.. people at risk for heart attacks... hmmm SMOKERS!! D: zomg!! looks like Lung Cancer isn't the only way to die from Smoking D: who woulda thought

Ok at 27 and smoking for 11 years now I just had a lung test done and I have normal lung capacity and the doc said that I'm a normal healthy person. You nonsmokers wanted the plane, you got the plane. You wanted public places, you got them, in the big cities anyway. Second hand smoke is not going to kill you, unless you spend 20 hours a day sitting in the smoking section of the Atlanta airport. I would be more concerned about the mom driving next to you on the parkway talking on her cell phone. Or the runner at the local pizza shop that just took a piss and didn't wash his hands.

I agree at 20 and smoking for 5 yrs had a lung test done came back normal also , here in texas well in the houston areas up here have lost alot of guest to the resturants because of the new law , my husband and i basically if we want the food from this place order out and come home and eat and have the right to smoke in our own home next thing you know they are just going to quit selling cigarettes , people who bitch about the second hand smoke piss me off , obviously you arent harmed if you sit in smoking section or close to it , it has come down to this and i basically went off about it but it pissed me off i went to see my mother and sister over christmas and my sister and i decided to go last minute shopping so i got in my car started driving and my sister is like " dont smoke while im in here thats second hand smoke and i dont want cancer " this is coming from a 15 yr old and i stopped in the middle of the street and told her well if you dont like it get out and walk back to the house , needless to say she shut up quick because we were on the way to get her lap top for her so anyways after she got the lap top she dont speak to me now but really i dont care i am not going to be told what to do in my car and by a 15 yr old snobby little brat . Dont get me wrong i love her to death but she just really pinched a nerve with me , but we will reconcile later on she just needs to chill out .

ok im done ranting now lol , {lights a cigarette} XD

definately not saying that. I'm just saying for smoking doesn't kill. It does raise risk factors. Seriously raises them. I know that smoking is dangerous, but so is alot of things people do. But I can honestly say when I smoke I don't see it as me placing my head on a choping block, I see it more as a game of rusian Roulette, sometimes your risk factor gets raised enogh to kill you sometimes it doesn't.

My grandma is also a smoker, and has been doing so since age 15 (now 71). Her doctors tell her to quit all the time, or to at least downgrade to a lighter cig (She smokes winston reds /puke). But up until now she is fine. I know this is just one example and proves nothing, but for me it makes me feel a bit better about being a smoker.

I don't understand why anybody smokes :\ it is bad for you, it stinks, it's a lot of money down the drain (especially if you are really addicted) and most of the time I see these people smoking outside in the rain or cold. It just seems stupid. And it pisses me off more than anything else when someone says in an exp party "brb gonna go get a smoke" or something like that. If it's during a time when the entire party is ok with a break for bathroom, food/drink, whatever it doesn't bother me.. but a lot of times it is ALWAYS right in the middle of getting a good chain going and when the party is on a roll and doesn't wanna break.. those people, if I'm party leader, get kicked fast and hard. If we have a BLM that'll D2 you fine but if not.. boot & bye!

lol. Ok do you drink pop, or coffee? Do you talk on your cell phone when you drive? Do you or have you ever done any drugs? If you did, don't give me that pot isn't as bad for you shit. Do you eat meat? Do you eat veggies? Do you drink water? Do you have a microwave? Did you ever walk across a street? Do you work in a factory, or a kitchen? Do you have pets? Is your house clean? Do you wear protective gloves when you clean? Do you use petroleum based heath care products? Do you floss? Do you engage in sexual activity? Do you wear protection if you do? Do you swim in natural water? Do you swim in chlorinated water? Do you use anti-bacterial soap? Do you eat at resturants? Do you fly in planes? Do you or have you ever driven to the store down the street? These are all things that can raise the risk factors in your life, and as for kicking people from parties that go to smoke, remind me to /blist add you next time I log in for being a douchbag.

Smoking and children are inefficient.

Noisy ignorant little bastards..... gtfo my house *takes a sledgehammer to Nick Jr. based merchandice*

I do not smoke, I do not do drugs, I dont' drink alcohol (tried it but no thx) I do not even take freaking asprin & have only drank "pop" (soda) on ocassion, I actually prefer fruit juice & flavored & regular milk... (this coming from a 23 yr old male). As far as throwing as threatening to throw a young child out of a car & make em walk home because they complain about smoke... you need psychiatric help, because obviously no consideration is put into the feelings of others or their health & no smoking & drinking does not make you strong. Smoking, Drinking & Illegal drugs are a waste of money, money for which you could get out of debt with, buy a house, car, etc. if saved properly. If you see someone coughing next to you & then move away, wave their hand by their nose, or what I end up doing...drag your shirt collar up over your nose to act as a filter... obviously 2nd hand smoking effects people, you can at least see observe this without having to waste your time to read up on medical documents. Smoking doesn't do anything physically good for you, neither do drugs or drinking. Drinking is ok, but unnecessary. If you become an alcoholic it can screw you up, I had an uncle with a big fat beer gut wake up with blood everywhere, the doctor stated it was due to the level of alcohol in his blood, luckily he had a cellphone on the counter he could drag to the floor, but once again in moderation...if you really must, drinking will not seriously or even moderatly harm you. Drugs...well...I don't wanna get into that..too many different ones... As far as smoking is concerned though, yes I am for T.R.U.T.H. & the eventually banning of smoking products (cigarettes, cigars, etc.). You drive in my car... You ain't f***in' smoking... You light one, I grab it & throw it out the window, you get upset & wanna do something about it?... My foot meets your face, your face meets the glass, your butt meets the curb. My family smokes, my friends smoke, I'm in no way prejudice against those that do smoke, I'm just appauled at their lack of consideration of 2nd hand smoke & those around them that don't enjoy it.
