I'm considering selling my Snipers Ring for 3.3 mil and buying the Woodsman Ring for 2.1 mil. I really can't see any reason not to do this. They both have +5 accuracy, and the Woodsman ring doesn't have -20 dark, and -10 def. It does have -5 evasion, but as a dark that understands hate, I'm really not worried about that.

All togather the Woodsman ring seem to be the better of the two, however sniper's seems to be the ring of choice.

Aside from being able to say I have a sniper's ring, is there any reason I shouldn't make a quick 1.2 mil profit?

I say go for it! I quickly traded in my Sniper's for Woodsmen Rings when I had the chance. Most good DRK gear already has minuses in evasion so another 10 really won't hurt. With the dual -20 Darkness on the Sniper's a Goblin Weaver in Gustaberg was able to stick sleep on me and start what felt like a 2 minute long wiff fest. I think getting those Woodsmen Rings was the best thing I've done. I can actually resist Dark Magic now!

Same here, and thats what exactly what caused me to go Woodsmans. I hated being put to sleep while dicking around in the Highlands lol.

Yeah, and who doesn't need an extra million gil?

I think I'm going for it. I still feel like I'm missing something here....but I just don't see what that might be.

If they where the same price I would say its a toss up, but by switching to woodsmen you get 2 mil gil in your pocket, my only question is what you waiting for?

It is actually a little over 1mil profit, but yeah, your right. I'm just trying to figure out why every other person with a melee job that needs accuracy hasn't figured it out...

I guess that answers my question, thx for the advice guys.

you know why the price is higher? noob gilbuyers have name recognition. snipers ring is a name like Scorpion harness or haubergon that has long standing been just the impulse buy. woodmen's were SE's attempt to lower the price on snips >.>;;

for a drk eva-10 isn't so bad at all for some other jobs you can see why they opt for that def-10 instead ^^; i wouldn't say the difference is worth millions, by a long shot

I really think this is worth it for a drk. The only jobs that need snipers and the +eva, i'd imagen are thfs and nins.

Actually I did figure it out^^. I sold my hedgehog bomb ; ; and used the gil to upgrade my warrior. One of the things I spent the gil on was a Woodsman's. The only I reason I didn't buy 2 at the time is because Baja (<3 Baja) is letting me borrow his snipers indefinitely.

If for some reason Baja asks me for his snipers back, you can bet your biffy I'll be selling something to get another Woodmans.

Woodsman's is actually better for Melee other than the tank mainly for one reason: most AoE attacks from mobs don't care about evasion, so the -5 evasion is nothing, but the 5 defense you don't lose is something.

The ONLY reason I have not done this is because I may decide to level Nin or Thf one day and the -Eva would SUCK.

i prefer snippers over woodsman because -def is a lil nice then evasion. when playing nin, i'd rather have -def then evasion if i can ;) same if you wana duo tank as warrior. but if just for like drk it might be good.

thf's save your evasion for pulling as well

just my opinion

I'm a paladin at heart, so no chance of ninja in my future.

However, I will have to lvl thf to 37.... I knew I was missing something..

back to the drawing board

Woodsman rings are 2.9 mil now. I'd probably go with one of each so you don't get too much negative of one stat.

Snipers are only a neccessary compared to woodsmans for ninja in my opinion.

For wars I can't say, that's a tough decision.

For monk I'd rather have the -20 def than the evasion. Monk have great evasion(B or B+) plus a dodge ability. After berserk/and or counter stance their defense sucks anyway.

For you as drk I definitely agree, woodsmans are no better or worse than snipers, so might as well make the easy buck.

Thief I think ideally is to use snipers to avoid the evasion-. But I don't think it matters that much. If you pull smart, this isn't really an issue. It would be an issue solo post 74 maybe if you solo'd thf. But you don't need that extra acc+ solo on DC-T in my opinion anyway, so you'd be using some other kind of ring set all together.

Sam-drg, probably doesn't matter much I imagine.

The biggest factor in your decision should be regarding if you'll pick up ninja though.

As a war, I'd go Snipers without a second glance strictly due to the r.acc. I've become very reliant on my marksmanship, and with such a shatty rating, I need all the +r.acc I can get. At higher levels you can just macro in those cheap -acc +r.acc rings, but at level 40, Sniper's are untouchable.

But hey, I don't have money so this is all just dreaming.

Woodsman Rings do have the same +r.acc as the Sniper's Rings.
