Picked up a PS3 today. Hooking it up now. Got Resistance and Spiderman 3.

Let's see if I have been missing anything.
 
It's fun :P but right now, it isn't as great. Kinda like PS2 at the start and all the other systems. But.. according to gamestop they say Assassin's Creed is coming out in July <3 can't wait for that. (was gonna be pushed back to February but now.. whee) It needs more content, other than that, it's fine.
 
Yeah, I've been hearing left and right how much the spider-man 3 game sucked.
 
It's ok. Better than the first, about on par with second I guess. Not the best, but fairly fun.
 
Spiderman 3 game didn't live up to expectations. Gameplay was more fun in ultimate spiderman and the graphics don't look at all as good as the trailers that have been making me salivate since they first came out.
 
Yeah, Spiderman 3 sucks, but that isn't the PS3's fault lol It probably sucks on all systems and nothing a Wii-mote can save.

Resistance however is pretty fun. So far I am liking Gears of War gameplay a bit better still, but at least Resistance has more of a story, which is pretty cool. I will be getting more games soon, but I really want Lair right now. That was the game that was going to be the one to sell me a PS3, but it was pushed back so I decided to buy the system anyways.

One thing for people just getting a PS3. The initial updates suuuuuck so much especially when you just spent $800+ and really want to play something.
 
the updates hardly took more than 10 minutes XD and I mean all of them together + setting up the system info.
 
When I had a wired Ethernet connection downloads were quick (RoadRunner, too), but since I've switched to wireless (Comcast, which is a huge downgrade) my load times have multiplied at least tenfold. My PC downloads are somewhere around the same as before I moved, but the PS3 got a huge hit. So I'm not sure if it's my ISP that sucks (because it does) or if the switch from wired to wireless had a huge impact on that.

Either way, hope you're having fun. At least you have the ability to download games in the background. Early adopters had to just go AF... PS3? Not that it was a bad thing, but it's much more convenient now.
 
That's your ISP. Wired is faster than Wireless, but no where near that much unless your wireless outright sucks.
 
So I tried the online part of Resistance. I sucked right off the bat, but getting better. I hopped right into Ranked matches, so I will end up having a shitty rank. I have never been to great at shooters online, but it's a lot of fun except people exploiting obvious glitches that I don't know how to do yet lol

lol Normally I am ahead of the curve when figuring out glitches, but I am a little behind with this game, so I have to watch and learn and die until I can glitch with the best of them.
