So I Got My Wii

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Virtual_Console_(Wii)

The ones that are in Bold will be the ones being released by then end of the year. I don't remember the initial launch VC games except Altered Beast, Bomberman 93', Bonk's Adventure, and Dr. Robotnick one. If only I can find the list...

You know lanien is a nintendo rep right?

Man, if they somehow have an online virtual console multiplayer option.. Mario Kart 64.. any attempt to make a Wii Mario Kart would be futile.

Wouldn't the new courses, new characters/powers be worth getting?

Would depend. I don't think Double Dash is anywhere near what 64 was. Even if you ignore the gameplay change, which is easy to do, it still doesn't compare.

Double Dash's item bias was excessive. Mario Kart 64 at least gave you the illusion that it wasn't happening all the time...

I second that. It isn't easy toping that one.

Games that catch my eye...
Solomon's Key
Gradius (japan onry ;.;)
F-Zero

Kirby's Dream Land 3
Kirby Super Star
Pilotwings
Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars
Super Metroid
The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past (japan)
Gunstar Heroes

Ristar
Dungeon Explorer (don't know what the hell it is, but I'm up for something new)

So, totalling it up...
500x2(NES)=1000
800x7(SNES)=5600
800x2(Genisis)=1600
600x1(TG16)=600
Yep....that's a good whole paycheck.

Gunstar Heroes, Kirby 3, and Super Metroid are SO going STRAIGHT onto my Wii.

But Gradius being JP ONRY really fucking sucks.

That means nothing. No offense on Lanien but a rep is just a representative for a company and that doesn't always mean he gets first hand information. Nintendo has already stated 10 VC games at launch and 30 by the end of the year in their press conference.

Originally it was 30 at launch and 10 every month after that. But I think they lost a few titles.

And as far as first hand info, that is the only info I get. Whether they change there minds 2 days later as Nintendo often does, is the real question. I'll try to find out and get back to you.

I can use my Gamecube controller right? It'll suck if I can't, cause I don't wanna swing my arms around like an epileptic when I'm playing video games.

You can only use Gamecube controllers on GC and some Virtual Console games only. Although the system has 4 GC Controller ports and 2 Memory Card slots for GC it was originally meant for backwards compatibility.

Wii games that are solely programmed for the Wii must use the Wii Remote and whatever extra accessories that can attach to the main Wii Remote. The only exception to this is Super Smash Bros. Brawl and even that is unclear at the moment.

At Launch is correct. You got the information correctly. To Nintendo the Launch period is from November -> Dec. . Sorry I misinterpreted the information. It's 30 games at launch (Nov.->Dec.) according to the Sept. Press Conference and 10 thereafter.

Yeah, Launch is from release until Christmas for them.

Lanien since you have a Wii system by any chance do you have any SD Cards that are 4GB? I was wondering if it's compatible with 4GB and many sites that have the system haven't confirmed anything. the 1GB and 2GB works but the 4GB is a little different since it's a bigger capacity and requires certain firmware in order to read them in some electronics I believe.

I haven't gotten any additional SD cards for my system yet. I will see if the local GameStop I have to visit today has any 4gigs used so I can test it out. I've just been running off the 512 built in since I only have the 2 games for it so far. And since I can't download anything yet due to servers not being on, I haven't picked up an extra one.
