So my fiancee just got me a PS3 today <3 so excited :)
Anyone know any good games I should try out? All I have so far is Little Big Planet.
Also if anyone wants to add me or play something(only have 1 game atm though) let me know =P
 
It really depends on what genre of games you'd want to play. Was checking out the list on wiki, I pretty much only play RPGS unless I play random fighting games that I don't have to invest a lot of time in. If you want RPG I can list a good amount of those. lol

Heavenly sword (it's like god of war and prince of persia and animation sequences that are like they were in the movie 300) love the art style, very pretty game. I think it was one of the first games out for PS3 that was a RPG. Might be hard to track down in stores.

Xenosaga 2 and 3, ( 1 was on ps1, but honestly if you just read up on 1 and 2, 3 is the best one to play out of all of them. I wanted to link these too but looks like namco bandai axed the launch sites) Might be hard to find now too.

I wanted to say Lost Odyssey, but then seeing it on the list was only for 360, totally forgot about that. (but a very good game none the less. reminds me of good, old rpg with better graphics.)

Uncharted Series was good, if you want treasure hunting, Indiana Jones style game mixed with FPS and witty humor. ( I dont want to list the link since they are only showing the 3rd installment)

There are a few elder scrolls games, newest due out this year.

Dragon age Origins and Awakening, if you didn't play them all ready on PC

Dragon age 2, if you did play O and A all ready.

I didn't get into Mass Effect, but that series looks really good too.

Ninja Gaiden Sigma, and Sigma 2 if you want to punish yourself. lol Pretty game when you ignore the obnoxious fan service and the blood. I forget if the ports were ok from 360 to PS3.

I liked Street Fighter IV, but it is harder the the original games. Best way to describe it I think is: remember how hard the original was as a kid? but easy if you played it now days? they make me feel like i'm 10 again. All I remember is yelling " quarter circle forward punch, my arse"

I heard Red Dead Redemption was good. Didn't get to play that one yet.

There is also a few final fantasy related games too, ( XIII ) Never finished it. lol

I tried to mention ones I felt were worth mentioning, I'm sure others will have good ones. It's difficult to pick, cause while they have a whole list there half of them are ports or sports games and I could never get into those. I'd say look up ones you hear about if you can avoid spoilers on youtube or just check out official trailers.

Warhawk is pretty good for an online focused shooter too.

Xenosage 1 was on PS2 just to be clear.
 
I can make a whole list of games for you, but at first it would be nice to know what games you actually like.
Just to prevent you end up like me, with a huge pile of games collecting dust because you don't like them enough to actually play them again.

You'd think I'd remember that, being its one of the three ps2 games I have. I think xeno and automatically think xenogears. and with that, Hey you can get that on PS network!

hm. scary thought but ok lol.

And quite honestly I cant say an exact kind of games I like cuz I don't really draw to one genre of games more then others all the time. Just like having fun and going with the flow at times.
I have Little Big Planet now, and do plan to get Marvel vs Capcom (the new one) for ps3 since I had played it on my fiancee's xbox360 and enjoyed it. If they ever fix the PC version and release FFXIV for ps3, I will probably get that as well when it releases.
I enjoy -some- RPGs, Fighting type games (Marvel vs Capcom, Mortal kombat, soul calibur, Dissidia/dissidia012(prolly doesnt fall in this category but u battle w/e), etc). racing games(even though I havent played one in a long while),

PSP: Dissidia, Dissidia 012, Phantasy star Portable 2, Infected
 
A lot of good suggestions so far. I'd like to add the game Wet to the list. It's a really fun shoot-em-up game with a strong female character. Great voice actors and good fast fun!

LittleBigPlanet is an awesome game. So much fun goofing around on it! I don't get to play much anymore but feel free to add me if you want. I'm StineTheKitty.

Ps3s are awesome. Just go into a local game store and browse for games. Hell go to many different game stores and browse. Then go home and look on PSN for games. Ps3 is just awesome.
 
My boyfriend and I play LBP together and have a fun time with it :) Great game!

RPG-wise my favorite on the system has to be Valkria Chronicles. Great story and great game play mechanics!

Heavenly Sword was great. It's short but has a great story and awesome voice acting. I'd rent this one :) Arkham Asylum is also really good
 
LBP/LBP2, Gran Turismo 5, InFamous (sequel coming in June), Killzone 2-3, Resistance 1-2 (sequel coming later this year), The Sly Collection, God of War Collection/3, Uncharted 1-2 (sequel coming later this year), 3D Dot Game Heroes, Ratchet and Clank: A Crack in Time, Valkyria Chronicles (get 2 for PSP too, 3 is coming for PSP TBA), and some multi-platforms such as Eternal Sonata, Fallout 3/NV, Dragon Age:O/2, FFXIII, Elder Scrolls, Assassin's Creed/2/Brotherhood, Dead Space/2, Bioshock 1/2.
Arkham Asylum as well, sequel comes in October, and a plethora of other titles I'm sure I'm forgetting.

On the PSP side, get the Ys titles published by XSEED, and the upcoming The Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky.
The 3rd Birthday releases next week as well, and FFIV: The Complete Collection April 19th, and for god-sakes, if you loved Final Fantasy Tactics, pick up Tactics Ogre for the PSP.

I second both, Heavenly sword should be in the "clasics" bin these days though.

I'd say get White Knight Chronicles if you can find it cheap :P

What you MUST get is Demon's Souls so you can enjoy the hair ripping awesome.

Resistance 1 & 2 are awesome.

If you don't have it on 360, Red Dead Redemption and GTA IV are musts imo.

God damn no, just no. The only good thing about that game was that fact that I used a 50 dollar PSN gift card to make a cotton farm and I filled it with black NPCs. I would never spend money on that game again though. It's not even worth 5 dollars.

It makes me sad that Resistance 1 was better than 2 :( I think it's cause 2 went way too "mainstream" and like every other shooter. Resistance 3 better bring it back to the way 1 was :D

So ya, was everyone's suggestions any help? :3
