Because Ridill is the most overpowered weapon in the game... Kraken just builds TP's for enemies and is rediculous for anything but Ballista and farming mobs TW->DC... oh yea and the odd time a DRK can use it with their 2hr. It's DPS is set at a base of 2.5 and if it hits for an average of 4 times then that equates to a DPS of 10.0.

As for Ridill... it has the 13th highest DPS of all swords at 10.17 (Excalibur is 1st with 12.62) and it hits 1-3 times each attack with an equal chance to hit for either 1 2 or 3 times as far as I know. So if you take the average of that and say it hits 2 times normally then that gives it a 20.34 DPS...

Oh and dont forget for doing big damage to stuff like JoL and DL as drk =P Im pretty sure they had the drks using it without their 2hr
 
I thought the damage formula was more complex than that (rather, don't think something with say 40dmg hitting 2x, is gonna do as much as something with 80dmg hitting once)?

But you're also just talking about DPS so I'll shut up now, gonna just wind up confusing myself...

DPS = Damage / (Dly / 60)

So 80 / (236 / 60) = 20.35

Of course there is always random factors in each swing, depending on the stats of the player and the enemy... so it may only do a total of 65, 70, 78, 83 dmg, but maybe you will get a critical hit for 150 dmg on one of those swings too though.

No one CFHs JoL, he takes a month or more to farm items for, which is why we havent heard of him being killed or even fought much. And CFHing AV doesnt help since he does so many AOE's at will and just kills everyone lol
 
i bet id has something to do with relic even though you say se dont want people to have it seem the perfect insentive for people to try for them.

Actually that is something to think about. I dont think anyone has tried fighting him with Fully upgraded weapons

DRK uses Souleater. PLD Covers DRK. WHM's Cure V DRK.

Every 6min (unless meritted to 5min) a DRK with Kraken can deal upwards of 3000-5000 dmg with that club.

The club isn't just for farming or TP gain. That is nonsense. That is not how this club was supposed to be used. It is deadly when used with the right job.

The Souleater/Cover/Cure V is great for Dynamis Lord, Jailer of Love, Aspidochelone, King Vinegaroon, and any other NM that needs to be killed quickly.

Edwardtheblack (DRK/WAR w/ a club) was parsed @ around 5000 damage, when Bikkwin parsed a Dynamis Lord win. He had second highest overall damage compared to their MNK using Sole sushi + Destroyers for around 6000 damage. The MNK had the most incredible ACC, hardly ever missed. It was something around 98.1% hits connected, only 1.9% missed. It's on BG forums somewhere if you're interested in the actual parser.

A PLD/NIN using Kraken/Joyeuse is a wasted club. Sure he has an easier time holding hate without support, however the spam of Mobs TP moves is not worth it. You're giving too much TP to a Mob without damaging it enough.
 
I laugh at MNKs who dream of Hundred Fists + Kraken Club.
 
Dowzer, adding Bloodweapon to that Kraken example you gave will more or less double the damage output over 30 seconds..
 
You can only use Bloodweapon every 2 hours as opposed to souleater every 6 minutes.
 
You are all so far off the mark. PLDs and DRKs. 18 man alliance. Weapon and Shield Bash 4tw. its so obvious. God.


Honestly I think this was a set up for something coming soon. I think JoL wasnt supposed to be beaten yet, that it happened too soon and we havent seen the ways to beat AV because it hasnt been revealed yet. Call me crazy, but I think the expansion will hold the key. Lets say Blue mage can learn some unstoppable ability from him or something. Game set and match.

you know, when i first read that, i was like "GOD! i wonder why they havent tried???" but then i remebered... 'heh... trillions of gil... not even gil buyers can afford that.'
man, there are to many mystories in this game, but it IS a final fantasy game. i wonder if we'll ever find out how you actually do it? perhaps we need one of every job in the alliance at all times...

because aids would take a few years... just use anthrax, or i can make some nicotine poison... or hell homemaid dynamite/napalm would make short work of it i bet
