I guess its been out long enough for me to ask: Perdu blade = better then the rest for offhand? proof perfered rather then just "I swing faster so i liek lulz".
thanks.

I don't have one, but i hear it's the best offhand.

Check BG. Somone parsed it. basically a ninja tried to say that the perdu was simply equal to a U/U setup and the BG peoples said that the U/U user was better than the guy testing(from looking at the data) so if the U/U one is better and equal to a lesser S/P user then the conclusion drawn was that the Perdu was indeeed a good offhand.

There were actually several threads they made trying to see if it was infact the best offhand.

The current ninja combo is either Unji/Unsho or Senji/Unji... and Senji/Fudo for poor people like me who can't afford Unji, but we don't count. >.>

So, offhand choices are these:
Unji: DMG: 32 Delay: 201 STR +2 DEX +4 AGI -1
Unsho: DMG: 31 Delay: 201 STR +3 DEX +3 VIT -1
Perdu: DMG: 32 Delay: 190 ACC+5 ATT+10

So, Perdu has as good of damage, and better delay, than Unji. Unsho is right out, trading 1 DMG for 1 STR is just silly, Jin does not have a STR 75% modifier. Unji loses in the DPS department (9.55 vs 10.10 during latent), leaving only modifiers.

It comes down to STR+2 DEX+4 vs ACC+5 ATT+10. If this was any other slot, would there really be a question? Of course ACC+5 ATT+10 beats STR+2 DEX+4. Unji/Unsho's stats don't help melee damage much, while Perdu's do. They do help WS, but so does Perdu, though probably to a lesser extent. But really, which does more damage, a 700-800 Jin (which isn't garunteed), or the melee hits getting there?

There is a question, though, of if Unji or Senji is the better mainhand with Perdu offhand. And I can't help you there. XD

And yea, what Khajit said... Some S/P user parsed against a U/U, the U/U had better gear, but S/P came closer than it should have, considering gear. So it could be inferred that S/P was superior to U/U.

All I hear these days is that S/P > U/U, and that U/U is now gimp D: lol

Yes, U/U is officially gimp. But Mistra says that U/P will beat S/P, but neither of us have a Perdu Blade to test that out yet. >.>

I could get a perdu to test it out. But then again my nin is 37. Which would be faster, me PLing my nin to 75 or you getting a perdu blade?

I'd get a perdu, but I don't have the IS to buy one. Figures that SE would finally come out with something worth buying after I blow through my stockpile.

I've played around with this some. After a decent amount of time I have decided for the majority of mobs I prefer S/P (normal exping on TOAU merit camps) but to pull this off I always use Rajas in a TP slot (used to use accuracy on both rings with Senju/Unji) because with the delay of S/P you'll get 9% TP return a ton, and Rajas brings your 10% returns up by about 30% really making wearing it pay off.

Situations where I use Unji/Perdu are: Souleater as /DRK, Going for highest WS count using NIN chainmail and acc rings, and times I'm looking to swing really fast. I carry my Unji around with me almost all the time still, but for practical situations I prefer using Senju/Perdu.

As far as the details my amount of WSes per hour on Unji/Perdu are much higher, even when I am getting 9% TP return most of the time (about 70% of swing sets). The redeeming factor for Senju is the much higher base damage on first hit, and WS average is considerable amout higher.

I hope that helps you out some but I'd really recommend trying out for yourself. My NIN gear changes around a lot depending on what I'm doing and I'm always parsing looking to optimize my armor. Nothing better you can do that try stuff out for yourself.

U/U isn't "gimp" for say, it's actually still very effective, situationally. I've found it to still be just fine, it suites my tastes. I personally do believe, however, that U/P will boast a very significant parse. We're not terribly far from a Perdu, Rappa, but then again I haven't had much time to really get on the game recently, so I guess we'll see. As my sig entails, busy up to my neck with workload... would be better if I wasn't just force-fed overtime, but what can ya do I guess. Between the book, my dog, and life in general, haven't had much time or energy to do much in the way of relax lately.

Back on topic, yeah I think we'll have a perdu in short order

i recently parsed against a U/P user on mamools and actually i parsed a bit higher. He was first provoke, so i know that makes a bit of difference, but ill post the parse when i get home. i use S/U btw.

I normally g S/F myself ( since what Ive read seems to show S/U and S/F very close and I like fudo more.) whats up with U/U now? last time i checked everyone was saying they would lose to S/U & S/F in parses? I'd just buy a perdu blade and test it myself but I'm a PSC ><

perdu's the best katana in the game besides relic.

the proof's in the pudding, you don't need parses, you just need to recognize that attack, accuracy, and low delay are better than anything else other katanas can provide.

He speaks the truth.
And since much of your Jin dmg is based on wether or not you crit, I would say that Senj is better than any of the U's.
Str and Dex you can get a shitload of from all other gear, +crit rate is tougher to come by.

So, Perdu has as good of damage, and better delay, than Unji. Unsho is right out
Completely offtopic but that triggered a prayer in my head:

First shalt thou take out the Holy Pin. Then, shalt thou count to three, no more, no less. Three shalt be the number thou shalt count, and the number of the counting shalt be three. Four shalt thou not count, nor either count thou two, excepting that thou then proceed to three. Five is right out.

what rank you gotta be to get this thing anyway?

and fly change your goddamn avatar back to what it was. this one gives me the fuckin creeps.

Second Liuetenant is the rank you have to be, and I agree on the avatar.

U/P (or P/U) > U/U
S/P > S/U

Perdu beats Unji (and makes Unsho obsolete), mainhand is a completely different discussion and not what you asked.
