According to their response, they would have rejected you because you admitted to hacking in the past anyways; so the lie about you currently hacking apparently wouldn't have made a difference.

As far as I recall (stop me if I'm wrong here) Blab wasn't "removed" as a moderator, he stepped down due to surmounting pressure in regards to certain revelations. I thought he was a decent mod.

As for this whole sordid affair, I agree that the shell had a right to know their applicant's history. As Baj said, they probably would have denied the application anyway but I really think people could have exercise some class and gone about their agenda differently. Just because you dislike someone, doesn't mean you have free reign to be underhanded, bitchy or vindictive.
