Soooo..Wow, it has been more years than I would like to even consider. How is everyone? Everyone being the old-school players I ran with back when I was 17(wow, that was a decade ago). I have no idea who is still lingering here, but I plan to play A Realm Reborn, and was wondering where you all were rolling your characters. I have a few RL friends jumping on the game with me, and I figured it would be fun as hell to get on the same server as our old QCDN players. Let me know, and hope to hear from old and new Quetz players!
 
I think there are a bunch of us going to Diabolos, while there are some legacy people from the 1.0 that are picking other servers or JP servers.
 
I still linger, and yeah.. Lanien pretty much hit the nail on the head. I'm gonna be rolling on Diabolos. Found a decent group of people in a FC I think I might call home for a while.
 
Are you sure you're interested? There's no de-leveling after death, which always seemed to be your favorite activity... I'll be around, though I haven't decided on a server yet. It would be awesome to get a bunch of the old TN people together, though!

I don't have it in me to reroll and start from scratch I don't think, gonna be transferring to Hyperion. Seems most the people i rolled with in 1.0 that are sticking with their legacy characters are going hyperion, Deava of War is going Hyperion, and most people here on QCDN I've seen commit to sticking with their legacy toons have also mentions Hyperion. If your going Legacy, Hyperion seems the place to be. Transfer application deadline is soon tho. so make sure you apply soon.

also I'm sure there will be 100 different "Handsome Jack"'s so I'm gonna take the slightly less obvious route and make a Lalafell alt named claptrap XD

I like that choosing a race in FFXIV is even less dependent on stats than FFXI was, even though it wasn't that big of a deal for that game either. Apparently at 50, the difference in stats is the same at level 1, so unless you want to min/max those 2-3 stat points, race choice should be about what you like.
 
Hubby and I will be there..have already got hooked from the beta. No decision on server though. I missed transfer deadline on my legacy char so will probably start fresh since she's on a JP server atm.
 
Hey all,

A handful of old quetz people, Katsusatsu members, and people that were from Lindblum will be heading over to Sargatanas(sp). Just thought I would throw it out there, incase some of you didn't have a place to go! :D
 
such a shame that they force us to choose between keeping the toons we worked on for a year and being on a server with the people we wanna play with.
 
Well as legacy you can have 8 characters per server, Im going to eventually re-roll a char on Hyperion since thats where 90% of my old server is going. Its also the main reason I decided against taking my character to Hyperion, It is going to be maxed out rather fast and possibly overcrowded with the sheer number of people transferring from Gungnir alone. Im just glad I ran into some familiar people during phase 2 to help me decide on my final choice, Got a handful of people coming with me so we can start up a solid FC and bring back my old quetz LS. Now...I just pray this version gets a model viewer!
 
I don't know where my security token is, so I can't access my original account. I still have my keys though. I will probably roll on Gilgamesh as that's where I did p3 of beta.

Can someone explain the early access stuff? I've been reading up on it and have seen about 20 theories about it lol.

I preordered 2 PS3 versions, and still have my PC version from FFXIV Online. Can I play my original character from the PC on the PS3 during early release, or do I have to reroll in order to play the early release?

Secondly, I heard that the legacy characters cannot play with the newbies... I.E. my character is on Sargatanas, but if someone starts fresh they cannot choose Sargatanas... is this true? I am slightly confused.
 
Legacy characters have to stay on Legacy servers, new characters can be made wherever, but I don't think too many new characters are going to be made on Legacy servers.

If that makes any sense.
 
There should be no "Theories" On early access, as that was done with 1.0. You get to play a few days earlier than everyone who bought the normal edition if you have the CE.
You can use your 1.0 character during the Early Access, you will be able to use your 1.0 Character on ps3 since it will be linked to the account you logged into.
You do not need to buy the PC version again if you already owned 1.0, you will be able to download the client for free and if you had the 1.0 CE you will also get early access for free on top of the month free, On top of the week of open beta if you choose to play it (it carries over into retail so basically it would be like round 1 of early access for most players with a small break afterwards).

1.0 Legacy Characters are limited to legacy servers for a small period of time until the newbie servers catch up to having a lot of 50's (I would say a couple months being that there will be people at level 50 within the first few days to a week I am sure).
If a newbie signs up they can choose any server, Including legacy. I Know a lot of people who will join legacy servers as newbies just because they want experienced people to play with, but the general consensus is that most people dont want to play legacy because they are jealous of the bonuses 1.0 characters get (so say the whiners on the beta boards any way). Heck, they are even claiming to try to kick people from parties in duty finder if they find out they are legacy players, I have even seen people start setting up "Legacy Free" Free companies and linkshells. Its getting pretty lame haha.

Well, if there was an established server, I would likely convince my brother to go to that server. Gilgamesh is going to be an RP server, and sometimes from WoW experience, RP servers are a bit... different.

haha that'll be rich. "Sorry, your gear is to good and you have to much experience, you can't run this dungeon with us" lol, ok then, have alot of fun wiping.

Part of me wants to say "noones really that stupid are they?".... but we all know they are : /
