Yeah, there's going to be a season this year, they finally worked everything out with the strike. There's already been a few preseason games on TV.

lol, anyways, season starts tonight, thank god. I'm a huge fan and happy to see the NHL back, along with a discounted season package on DirectTV. I missed the NHL so much last year that I'm going to try to watch as many games as the already overworked tivo can handle. I'm not too hot about some of the rule changes, but eh... whatever gets it back on TV I guess :wink:

I'm going to a Blackhawks game tonight, not that I am a huge hockey fan, I just live 8 blocks away from the stadium. Nothing like being able to buy a $10 ticket and sneaking down to the $100 ticket seats because they are half empty.

heh I'm sure someone will get hurt in about a week and gimp the whole team for the rest of the season. Either that or their penalty killing unit won't come together and they'll keep taking 10+ penalties per game. >_<
What kills me, though, is that, as a Rangers fan living in Boston, I'll end up having to get a Bruins jersey this season with a #22 on it. Actually, being a Rangers fan in Boston could be the thing that kills me :wink:

I have to give credit where credit is due... it might be early still, but the Rangers look a hell of a lot better than I thought they would. I was happy they downed the Flyers. I wish I could have caught the Devils game though just so I could have heard the "Overrated" chant. :wink:

No more red lines. No more Icing.
Goalie pads are smaller, so are the sticks.
You can now pull your goalie out of the game and put a 6th player in at any point in time during the game (instead of just the last 3 minutes of the 3rd period).
No more sudden death overtime. It goes to a shootout now.
that last one is the only one I'm not too crazy about, but it doesen't suck.
Go detroit! (Even tho we lost federov
