I was wondering, I see a lot of posts recently about how more NA people have gotten their first claim on HNM and god pops lately but..

If they merge NA servers to all fight with each other.. is this going to lead to a lot of NA vs NA fights? Do you guys feel proud of yourselves because of NA base or because of LS base?

I was just contemplating how when it comes to things like this...

Are we really proud to get the first NA claim or are we just proud that our LS did it. Nah Meen? A lot of you seem to be for the NA only servers, but when it comes down to it, is an NA vs NA server going to cause a lot more drama in those situations than an NA vs JP server in my opinion, simply because we can communicate better (ie QCDN and alla).

Just throwing the question out there.

The only reason it'll cause a lot more Drama, is because everyone will be able to understand what everyone else is saying :p

no, lol, ok, we can all admit there is going to be more drama, due to language and whatever.

so basing it on that, all you people who are like we need an NA server and JP can have their own.. is it really going to yield the results you think?

I guess I kind of answered my own question. But I've heard so many people talking about "we need NA server!" and 'F JP Players they hate us!" arguments...

So if the argument is that all these people with the xp nerf are going to now get to 75 faster, maybe that means that there are more people at 75 and they can split the server faster. eh??

EH??

Really, we don't need a new server. We just need BOTH cultures to stop griefing the hell out of each other.

and end the war in iraq, and the chinese and japanese to stop hating on each other, and france to stop losing wars, ok this is all obvious.

head-out of the clouds speaking though.. hehe

sorry, just instigating. you know me. ^^v

Yeah I know, It's silly. You can't have everyone to stop saying "I hate them Japs!/Sirry Roundeye!," but reducing the numbers would sure help out a lot more.

I gauge NA and JP relationships as very well to be honest. The difference is most of the mature JP players don't do much in terms of HNM camping. They are young kids with no respect or morals. If they pick a fight I have no qualms about dropping to their level and I do not feel like it will affect NA and JP relationships in terms of the base JP population in the slightest bit.

whats the point of a NA server? I play in the middle of the nite sometimes and its lonely enough as it is. I dont wanna log on to find 13 players online lol.

This will not lead to NA vs. NA. I think this because on most normal HNM claims while there may be shit talking, there is little to no stealing or MPKing. It appears though some people may have some bit of hatred towards others but overall it seems that has stopped. I'm referring to NHunters vs. BoL. It seems that all NA lead shells, although they may dislike rival shells, do at least have some bit of respect and honor about them to know where to draw the line. In the end getting cced on Fafnir and all that will cause problems but no bigger than the ones already at hand on baby HNM's like Serket, Roc, etc (in which soon will probably be dominated by gil-sellers). Just my opinion and thoughts though.

Maybe they're just proud because our server is ussually very far behind the others. So I hear anyway. That'd make what they did a nice step towards improving the caliber of our server.

The is one thing you are missing. The popular belief is that there is an unbalance in the way GM's treat JP players vrs the way they treat NA players. The feeling being that being on an NA server would alleviate the supposed unchecked JP MPKs as well as the supposed latency advantage, etc.

For my part, I like it the way it is. I would only be in faor of a server merger if population dropped to extreme low levels.

Since I usually play during peak JP hours, I have seen some of the gripes that are discussed here. That being said, I would still rather not have an NA only server. I like the culture differences, it keeps the game fresh, and the people interesting. But on the other hand, I am much more relaxed in game than some of the folks on our server...

I'm with Crooked. I like the cultural differences. I also like all-Jap parties. There is nothing like getting a tell from an anonymous Jap via the auto-translator.

Japs know how to party for XP. I live for the Jap invites.

Yes, there is competition in which the Japs have an advantage becuase they've been playing longer, but there is also collaberation where the NA players got where they are going a lot more quickly because of the veteran Jap players.

It is kind of hard to have a prolonged argument with someone when you have no idea what they are saying.

<That's to bad>

I personally would like 1 NA only server, and one JP only servor. That way, all the rascist pricks can go be pricks with them selves :?

IMO: If they added NA only servers, there would be some great advantages. If they made it so that you had to have a valid NA address to register on those servers, this would greatly cut down on gil selling due to the fact that if they were found guilty in America there would be legal actions taken. Also, it would severely cut down on NM camping because you'd, first, not have to worry about sellers cockblocking you, and second, you could just go on at an off hour or early in the morning and get on a down spike. Also, the constant maintainance could take place during low-use hours and not effect the majority. I'm not sure I'd like to play on a server where theres 2.5k people online for most of the day and it dies to at most 500 people during the night time. You'd either be in a situation where you're fighting for camps or you can't find a pt because theres nobody in your range on. JP/NA interraction keeps the game more accessable for everyone and it would be ignorant to try and split this up.

Reasons they won't do this: The multi-nation servers are more economically efficient because this creates the abilty for constant use and steady levels of use. They'd be paying for double the servers to be run for the same amount of usage which isn't financially sound of an idea. SE runs on the money. They will not do anything that might make them lose any more money than they already are. It's actually shocking that they haven't implemented the new Sony-type systems of commecial additions to the game such as the /pizza and inside company money/account selling. SE may have taken the consequenses of these things into account since they know many would quit (including myself) if they were implemented. The only way it would be *almost* acceptable is if they elminated ALL greif-giving monopolizing sellers that exist and made it a proprietary service. I think that if they did that and made Selling/No Selling servers and let current players choose which they went to then that would be better. This is an ideal situation that CANNOT exist because as long as there's a market for selling gil/accounts, there will always be companies such as IGE to exploit that market. (sorry for the long tangent)

Most of the planned maintenance takes place during EU-primetime >.< So on the day of maintenance, just plan some other activity, because you won't be playing anyway. During weekdays it's hard to find a party because JP is going to bed and NA is waking up/working/at school.

EU-players are always forgotten in all of this. Maybe we're too few, I don't know. I agree that sometimes not being able to communicate with JP can be frustrating. But for most of the time they are very helpful and perhaps bored :D I remember unlocking my Adv. Jobs at LV30 in December/January of 2003/2004, asking highlevels for help on different quests. Thanks to all of them I had a great time.
