so you think our server is fuckd up?

it was Kaizen (aka Ascension) that killed Tiamat from 100% HP. Well.. sure Kiiro got the final blow (and she feels so bad.. she was just trying to help..) but Ascension deserves all the credit.

Yeah, Ascension. I really need to keep away from these boards before I go to sleep and when I wake up.

If we never try, then we will never succeed. We are getting better and better, and eventually there will be no real difference between endgame NAs and endgame JPs. But if we never try, we will never reach that level.

Can't claim? Each land god has been killed and claimed by a NA group. Ascension alone has killed them all. Need proof? they have E.Body, M.Body, W.Body in their LS. The only NA LS with those. (unless I'm wrong again >.>) Outterheaven has killed fafnir (And I don't believe they cheated to get claim either) and NA have killed KB many times in the past. You doubt the skill of people on our server but there are lots of skillful players on our server. Maybe a lot of assholes/idiots but still skilled at their characters.

you didn't list anything from KB ^~ but as you said, he has been killed by multiple NA groups :D

There will always be a difference between NA's and JP in the game, and their performances will reflect that. If you aren't needed to them, you aren't there. It's a completely different mentality, and one that doesn't align with North America's. When they can't sub ninja to both claim and solo something, they don't leave it up to luck. They buy another computer and stick a mule beside themselves to both heal themselves and take the rare items that may drop, because chances are....they already have them anyway and simply want more.

Packet sniffing is a NA wivestale. No one knows the location of the spawns. Windows on HNMs are completely predictable. There is no camping. There is only waiting in between predictable possibilities. The JP gamers simply go to a greater extent than most of us would think fair play. To me, sticking a mule beside yourself so that you can do more as a solo than the game intended is cheating. But that's what it takes. To edit the dat files is cheating as well. Darters are in Fafnir's layer for a reason. But that's what it takes. They do it. They've done it for years. They're not better. To them, all possible efficiency is fair game. They esteem efficiency over sportsmanship. Inefficiency is worse than questionable tactics. That's not a mentality we readily adopt over here, but people are catching on. I just doubt we'll fully convert to utterly ruthless, relentless, cold-hearted efficiency before the game discontinues. It's not in most of us. That's not entertainment to us.

But the screenshot is painfully funny. One questionable tactic we have managed to go stride-for-stride with the JP players on is reclaiming a mob that drops its bond.

It's only on the 3 king HNM's that the windows are predictiable. Packet sniffing is also a real thing, not just some "old wive's tale." When you see an LS that's spread out covering every spot where behemoth can pop; and then they all converge to a very small spot and claim it(with poison, while you're spamming voke) 2 seconds later when it spawns in that same spot; that's not "guessing." Packet sniffing probably gets blamed a little more than it's actually used, but it is real and there are people using it.

Not necessarily. Some people are able to predict with rather reliable accuracy where the next pop of an NM is most likely to occur. Also, I know that when we camp, some people will see a mob yellow for 1-2 seconds before claimed, but be out of range... whereas it will pop purple for others. I am not saying that Sniffers don't exist, or that Varess (the only person you could possibly be talking about here) isn't using one. However, it is very possible that he isn’t, for the reasons explained above.

it is real. if you watch most people at fafnir/nidhogg, when its close to pop time, people start moving to a certain spot and the closer it gets to the spawn time, they can tell what it is that is going to spawn. yes, i do know of someone that has a sniffer and he has used it at fafnir before. and he predicted what was going to pop and where exactly it was going to pop as well as the time exactly when it was going to pop

He's lying. I've seen how Nidhogg and Fafnir are claimed. People don't converge on a point while camping Fafnir. Maybe it looks that way to people who show up hoping to claim, but to those who are there daily, it looks the same as it always has. They saturate the arena so that every possible spawn point is covered by an instant claim ability. Remove the fly dat. Turbo controller on. All areas covered. Start spamming 30 seconds before the window is up. Stop spamming 2 minutes later. Instant claim. That's all it ever takes.

hmm, doesnt sound like you listen to people when they say what they know. trust me, there are many ways to claim something by using somethign that helps....IE taking out dat files for the flies and using a sniffer. the person has a sniffer, last time he was there, he knew it was nidhogg popping, and also knew exactly when (down to the second) of where he was popping...ill post a few screenies of someone at another server counting down to the very second of it popping to help prove my point

http://www107.sakura.ne.jp/~hnm/Jonesz2.avi

*please note the countdown to when the HNM spawns...also note that everyone is in the same spot instead of around the perimeter. hmm, could this be because more than one person knows where its going to spawn. YES*

Until I see one single screenshot or movie proving these tactics exist instead of this Crucible-esque witchhunting, it'll remain a bunch of bull. There's not one shred of concrete evidence to the existence of sniffers. Everyone has friends. Everyone thinks they might have seen one used once. Everyone thinks they're the best claimer out there, and everyone else who beats them is cheating. You have a friend with one? I've got a friend too, and he uses an elephant to crush peanuts into diamonds. Must be true, because he said so and his girlfriend has a diamond.

This is all a bit ridiculous. We are continuously coming up with more and more elaborate but fabricated excuses as to why we can't claim things. First it was voke bots. Then voke bots just turned out to be people who hit enter fast and knew the ToD. No big deal. Then these voke bots knew not to voke anything else. Turns out they just edited the other mobs out of view. No big deal.

Now people claim that there is software out there that intercepts information as to the location and time of a NM's spawn, AND that you can send an intercept to claim it before it spawns? Sorry, this is just one more extension of a witchhunt that's gone on as long as people have been getting miffed over being beaten. No excuses. Sniffers don't exist. If they do, prove it where thousands of others with "friends" have failed to.

We've already been over those movies a dozen times on a dozen forums. That doesn't require any 3rd party program to do. The creator of the movie was facing the wrong way in the second one, and his party members were all over the map in a typical shotgun-style claiming pattern.

i guess the countdown on both of them is exact to the hnm popping is total coincedince. yeah your right, were all wrong....asshat

newsflash. if you have a bot or know someone that actually uses a bot, your info is totally wrong when peregriine enters the conversation peregrine>all
bow down to the ever NOT knowing asshat. no wonder why people think your a tard.
these werent made for ffxi but since you say sniffers dont exist.....http://www.sniff-em.com/
also, a sniffer doesnt make it so u can claim faster. there are things you can do to do that IE like we said, take out dat files. which doesnt help claim faster, it just takes out anything else that you could possibly target instead of the actual NM. conn speed as well as how your "method" of claiming determines that. yes, it is possible to bot. anything on the internet is hackable including FFXI. im sorry that you want to live with blinders on and think that nothing like this would ever happen, but it does....FACT

This discussion doesn't belong here. Feel free to take it elsewhere if you want your gullibility exposed further.

what would u say if it was me that had the sniffer huh? i guess im lying to myself then right? god damn those multiple personalities. /rolls eyes
